I just received my new Breitling Superocean II 44 Black just yesterday. This is my first luxury watch purchase after owning Movado, Timex, Uniform Wares in the past. I did a lot of research and wanted a dive watch. Initially, I purchased a new Tudor Pelagos from a seller here and the watch had a faulty in-house movement. I was really quite disappointed, although I was promptly refunded which eased the pain a bit. After being refunded, I thought, it's time to save for a Rolex Submariner. However, one thing bothered me...my 40mm watches look slightly undersized on my wrist. I continued to save for the Sub. Then I stumbled backwards upon the Superocean II 44 in Black and began to look at images online. There's really not that many great photos out there, not a ton of instragram posts with this one...but I really liked the few that I saw. 4weeks 4rolex!
Hi TRF, I realize when I'm active on the forum, I start buying. In the pass 4 weeks or so, I have purchased 4 Rolex's. You may have seen my post before or the purchase of the 116509 steel dial Daytona, followed by the Batman. This week Monday i pick up my first vintage Rolex, a Sub circa 1985. Thou I am not a vintage smart but I met Fred RED1108NYC , whom share a lot of his knowledge with me in the purchase. Over all I'm happy to with my purchase and since I'm just starting into vintage I'm only buy 1985, starting off with my birth year. Yesterday a second vintage arrived, watch was serial dates to 1984, but the original purchase receipt was 10/10/1985, thou its not my birthday but it's close. A few days ago one of the members asked if you would buy a Rolex from Walmart. The attached photo was snapped by my wife at the Westbury Long Island Costco Store! Not Walmart but close! A yg Daytona with a black dial.I was shocked but she said Why wouldn't anyone buy one from Costco? After all you can wear it for a year and return it for a full cash refund She has a point! Marc
