Vacheron Constantin SIHH 2010 Preview: Thin is In
Vacheron Constantin is known for producing some of the world’s thinnest timepieces, and for 2010 they are introducing two new wristwatches in the Historiques collection that confirm the brand’s expertise in the arena of the ultra-thin. The Historique Ultra-fine 1955 measures only 4.1mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound watch. The Historique Ultra-fine 1968 is a square, ultra-thin automatic. The 36mm 1955 is presented in 4N 18k pink gold. Though an homage to the past, the 1955 is a modern design with 30 meter water resistance, a sapphire display back, and a titanium casing circle to improve the rigidity of this wisp for the wrist. Beneath the opaline silver-colored gold dial lies caliber 1003, which at a mere 1.64mm is the world’s thinnest. To celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2010, the movement has been reborn with 18k gold mainplate and bridges. The 21.1mm-diameter movement consists of 117 parts and beats at 18,000 vph. Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Titanium
Ulysse Nardin’s Maxi Marine Diver Titanium is the newest addition to the Maxi Marine Diver collection. The skin-friendly case measures 45 mm in diameter with a unidirectional rotating bezel in either 18 carat rose gold or stainless steel. The wave-patterned dial supports applied luminous indexes. The black, wave-patterned rubber strap has rose gold or titanium elements bearing the UN anchor logo. The exhibition case-back offers an excellent view of the C.O.S.C.-certified movement and its ruthenium colored rotor. This watch features a power reserve indicator at 12 and an oversized small seconds register with date at 6. The MMD Ti is water-resistant to 200 meters. Each case is individually numbered.
Calling on AP aficionados. Again....
Hey All. I have asked for some help on an AP matter in the past here: .rolexforums/showthrea...=187094&page=2Well this is related to that same situation. I decided to sell the other two watches I owned and now I just have the Rolex Sub-C. Obviously, I still want the AP ROO Diver! Now, I am not an expert on AP and I am just wondering about the longevity of their models. I need to save for a bit to get the AP. I am willing to save for a year or two if need be to get a new one (which I prefer). How long do you guys see the Diver being around? I can't help this feeling I have that I did this backwards. Maybe I should have gotten the AP Diver then saved back up for the Sub. We all know the Sub will be around for at least 15-20 years unchanged! So...did I do it backwards or do you think the Diver will be around and available new for years to come?? I know no one can tell me for sure, I'm just looking for the opinion of those who have been following AP for longer than I have. Thanks!
Mitsukoshi Omega
Would you buy a Speedy Pro that had a dial and hands conversion to look like a Mitsukoshi? I have the opportunity to buy one and just curious what others think about it since it would be a conversion and not an original. Price would be adjusted as well. Thanks
Thoughts on PP 5180
I am thinking of buying this model. My AD told me to be patient with it. I have never seen it in real life. Would appreciate to have the views from owners. Thank you.
