AP Purchase Diilemma
I have a number of watches and two APs--- AP royal oak overseas chrono-- steel black with red accents and an AP steel open worked skeleton. I have had a soft spot for a Royal Oak Chrono-- specifically I am interested in the blue dial version or the Italy special limited edition version (see below). I also really like the new yellow gold on blue dial version but do not really want a gold bracelet. Anyway--- do any of you own a Royal Oak overseas Chrono and Royal Oak Chrono? Redundant? Other Thoughts?
Thoughts on Chronomat 44 GMT
I've been thinking about picking up a Chronomat 44 GMT Patroille Suisse 50th Anniversary watch. I've never owned a Breitling before; my current collection consists of 4 Rolexes and 2 Omegas. I like the look of the Chronomat, but I don't know much about Breitlings. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this timepiece. Thanks!
5167 versus Smurf Trade and Response
Good morning TRF!I am confused. I have a Patek 5167a on Steel Bracelet with full box and papers from 2013 and it was serviced in 2015 before warranty expired.I also purchased the black rubber and deployant from AD. I also purchased brown rubber from AD so I pretty much have 3 watches. It is great. However with a PAM 112, a Rolex 1675 I have 3 sports watches with dark dials and interested in a blue dial.Anyway, I keep seeing prices from dealers from $22k to $25k for used and preowned 5167s with half my accessories and then I saw someone on TRF selling a Smurf for $22.5k cash. I thought I would see if a 1 to 1 trade was even fair. His response was as follows Good morning. I'd certainly consider a trade but checking other offered prices on eBay and chrono24, I couldn't get to 1 for 1.At this point with prices as they are and rising, isn't a 1 to 1 trade is fair right? Unless people are buying at a significant discount to list prices on TRF? Can someone please let me know how much negotiati
Who has gotten "the call" without AD relationship?
I will openly admit that I am starting this thread for self-assurance, but hopefully it will prove useful to others as well.I have called ADs all around the USA in an attempt to get on as many lists as possible for the Daytona 116500ln. Most have been brutally honest in that it would be impossible or at least take 5+ years, however a few were optimistic that they could make something happen within a somewhat reasonable timeframe given the popularity of the model (a few months to a year.)From what I've read on this forum (many here are more knowledgeable than most AD's) trying to obtain a ceramic Daytona without a well established relationship with an AD is simply impossible. However, I have seen a few members state that hope is not lost, and if you're willing to branch and and be persistent, eventually your hard work will pay off.So now I'm asking for testimonies from those of you who have been in my situation, and have actually seen results. After getting on a list with no prior hi
Finally here after a long await...
So here's my story that started back in 2006 after the birth of my daughter. I remember purchasing a men's Journal magazine where they had a sea dweller ad that caught my eye...Fast forward to today with a couple pics of What are you drinking along with the Collection and What writing instruments do you ownEnjoying it immensely and wanted to share with my TRF family. -Steve
