Linde Werdelin Land Instrument II - The Rock
Computer technology, unlike wrist watch technology, has no choice but to be upgraded continuously. So here is the upgraded Land Instrument from Linde Werdelin. What is it you may ask (for those uninitiated)? In a nutshell, it is a sensor-based device that gives you lots of important information using data collected from an internal compass, barometer, altimeter, inclination meter, and separate (but wirelessly connected thermometer). It also has an optional wireless heart rate monitor that straps around your chest. Using all this information in conjunction with the native ability to process it and store it - gives you an instrument, the Land Instrument II to be exact (now called "The Rock"). Along with that, there are basic functions including alarms, stopwatches, the time, and lots of logging capabilities. The Rock now also features that ability to connect with a GPS device. Hey All,I've been wanting to add a precious metal dress watch for while, but my eye has been firmly set on my next stainless sports watch acquisition. My friend and I have been talking dress watches and took a trip to NYC to do some browsing. After having the Patek 5196 on, I'm obsessed. I have a Rolex Sub and I've always been a one watch guy, but I really want a piece of Haute Horlogerie. Before being derailed by the 5196 my plan was to get the RO 15202 and it be my only watch. It's obviously not as robust as the Sub, so I've been having doubts. With the price difference between what the 5196 is available for and the 15202, I would be able to justify the stretch and keep the Sub and get the 5196. I feel like I'd have a pretty well rounded two watch collection. Does that make any sense to anyone?? haha Am I nuts to be thinking to forgo the Jumbo? I looked at the 5196J (yellow gold) and the 'R' (pink gold). I only tried on the 'J' because the strap was already flexed and I felt bad bend

Hi Guys, buddy of mine posted this on Instagram and I think it looks fake... Can someone tell me for sure??. I dont want to mention to him unless I know for sure... The dial looks good, the diamond bezel looks after market but the crown is what concerns me. Thoughts?>> Thanks! Mike

I was wandering around wondering what my PAM model was..
.. day and night. Every time I hit the Panerai boutique they would apologize and wouldn't tell me. Approaching strangers wherever I go, cafes, restaurants, offices; nobody would tell me what the model was. People started recognizing me at the places I frequent and they would give me weird looks and avoid me. It's stayed a mystery for such a long time. Walking around the city, malls, beaches, and parking lots. At this point I started to lose hope, thinking I'll die before I identify my Panerai watch. It started affecting both, my personal and professional life. I was devastated and my life started falling apart. My wife left me, and got fired from my job. Had no more friends as they thought I was going mental. Then all of a sudden; I was at some random building trying to look for clues; it hit me! And I lived happily ever after.
