Watches NEWS
SIHH: IWC Portuguese Hand-Wound
For IWC, 2010 is the Year of the Portuguese and fans of the brand will be happy to read that the manufacture is offering two beautifully simple 44mm models in stainless steel cases, each with an original pocket watch movement of the type that the first pocket watch-style wristwatch appeared with seventy years ago. Two models are available. The first is stainless steel with a black dial, rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and the characteristic feuille hands with a silver-plated seconds subdial featuring a distinctive 60 in signal red. Its sibling model with a silver-plated dial and rose gold-plated indices and hands stands out with its seconds subdial in light gray, also with a small red 60 . Features common to both are the typical chapter ring in the traditional railwaytrack style and, as the drive mechanism, the IWC-manufactured 98295 caliber with stylistic echoes of the first Jones movements, such as the nickel-silver three-quarter bridge and the elongated index to facilitate preci
Which movement is this?
I have a vintage (circa 1970's) white gold AP dress watch and I'm trying to figure out which movement it is. Any of you AP experts could help me identify it?Thanks!
Used Speedy Reduced 3510.50 - what's a good deal?
First Post!I'm considering looking at a Speedy Reduced 3510.50 from an individual. No box/papers; he claims he bought it pre-owned from a jeweler in 2011 and it was checked out then. I'll have it checked myself before I pull the trigger, but what would be a fair price assuming the condition of the good (not mint--but that of a cared for daily wearer)? I realize it's hard to say without a good look at the watch; I'm really just looking for a ballpark. I appreciate it in advance, -JBC3
Ordered a 5168 but got bumped?
Hi everyone,New account for anonymity purposes.I ordered a 5168 the day it was announced from my local AD. (back in March)I placed the standard $5k deposit down for the watch and was guaranteed to the be the first to receive it. AD confirmed I was first in line. Received an email today stating that I was to be bumped because a high profile person wanted it instead. So I am next in line.Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas what I should do? Anything I can do about this?I passed on a 5711 to wait on this. Will be my first Patek and this happened...All help greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Price Used PP Nautilus??
New to the watch game, but I really love the PP Nautilus. The simple one with blue dial. I think it is the 5711. Does anyone know how long they have made this model. I would love to get a used one, but I want it to look like the one I see on here so much. How much could I get a used one for?
