F.P. Journe Octa Sport Watch
F.P. Journe is really pushing aluminum as its sport watch material of course. I've written in the past about not understanding why they would choose aluminum, which is a soft and easily dented metal for a super high-end luxury watch. It is very light, and I guess they like the quirk. Titanium has really usurped most aluminum use, but I think aluminum is still technically a bit lighter (just not stronger). The watch is just 53 grams in weight. According to F.P. Journe they used "high technology aluminum" (which is apparently the same used in Aeronautics). So like fragile race cars F.P. Journe's sport watches are nice to look at with good performance but you don't want to hit things with it. The watch even has bumpers on the sides. This concept started with the first F.P. Journe sport watch which was last year's Centigraphe Sport (seen below, and priced super high). Oh, and they call their sport collection the "lineSport" collection. It does wreak of a certain disdain for English, whereby
Xicorr FSO M20.01 Hands-On
Xicorr is a young Polish watch brand committed to putting "made in Poland" on the map. We reviewed their first watch, the Circle, back in 2013. Though we found the overall design a bit divisive, we were taken with the unique aesthetic of the case and its solid build quality. ?We were most impressed with the brand’s commitment to building their watches from the ground up, with all components, excluding the movement, designed in-house and made to spec. Eventually, Xicorr would like to sell watches entirely made in Poland, and though the company currently uses third-party movementsmostly from Chinathey hope to manufacture their own down the line.In the meantime, Xicorr has been busy releasing a number of new models, many of them automotive inspired. Today, we're taking a look at the Xicorr FSO M20.01, a watch based on the FSO Warszawa M20 car produced in Poland from 1951 to 1973 (it was the first post-war Polish car produced on a national scale). It's a bit of an obscure reference
Panerai 577
Does anyone else wish this watch was 44mm or 45mm?
Decided to brush the PCL's on BLNR (pics inside)
And couldn't be happier with the results. Opinions are divided on PCL's, but I'm much more of a fan of the brushed look. It cost just $50 from a professional, so well worth the money to me. It would certainly lower the resale value, but I don't plan on ever parting with this one.Just thought I'd post a few pictures if anyone is considering doing the same thing.
Relaxing Sunday Night with the 36mm Oyster Perpetual
This is my one and only Rolex that I purchased last year and I still find myself staring at this dial. I know it's not one of the more popular models like the sub or DJ, but it is the perfect fit for me. I've worn it every day since I purchased it from DavidSW. I thought some of you might enjoy a few wrist shots. Have a great week!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
