Zenith Pilot Montre dAronef Type 20 GMT Watch
As part of?Zenith's focus on their Pilot watch collection for 2013, one of the new models is this Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 GMT watch. Also new for 2013 is the?Zenith Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 Annual Calendar. Both the Annual Calendar and the GMT use existing Zenith movements. In fact, we see very little new movements these days from the major brands. Movement development is extremely expensive and time consuming. It is often best to extend the life of successful movements by dressing them up in different ways, in different watches. Zenith of course is among the true in-house movement makers.Zenith has true history with pilot watches and the Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 collection is based on historic designs made popular by themselves and other watchmakers of the time. But to us that doesn't matter. If you make a good watch today it shouldn't matter what you've done in the past. Yes, I know, I am an unrefined American. Need pricing help for 44 ROO RG ceramic
I think I'm going to take the plunge and buy one on the grey market. If you have one, what did you pay for yours? year + condition? I'm looking at new listings in the low 40s, high 30s, with gently used ones for slightly less in the high 30s. I'm waiting to hear back on a quote from a store in Boston that can beat the prices from every other store in the area. What do you think I should realistically haggle the price down to?
Cracked ceramic case update
Hi all, For those who followed or didn't, my chipped or most likely cracked ceramic case had been sent to Le Brassus, they contacted me today to apologize for the delay, about 2 months, but they had to conduct many tests on it, and they will give me back the watch repaired in mid August, at AP's expense.Since you can't repair ceramic that only means a new case, I wrote them back saying I would like to know what were the reasons for this happening, but would understand if they preferred to keep it confidential, since no shock was involved the only reason must have been a not very well made ceramic case.I will update if I get any other details on the reasons. So once again their reputation is verified, they didn't one second do what other brands might have done, imply that it was due to a shock or another wrongdoing on my part.Would have liked to have it for the beach in Odessa this summer, but I will have it for the next holidays.Good point for AP on this one you can buy knowing they wi
Omega SMP Chrono 2594.50 America's Cup Edition
pretty sure this may have been discussed at some point in the last 8 years but any ideas why some say Amercas Cup in small text below the chronometer script and some don't but Omega gave them the same ref #???i'm selling mine and a question came up on that matter. i called my Omega Ad today and they couldn't answer the question with certainty... the sales rep didn't even know the ref# but in their defense, it was a limited run SMP.any info is appreciated!
