Giuliano Mazzuoli Carrara Watch With Marble Case
The newest watch from Italian designer Giuliano Mazzuoli is a surprisingly simple beauty with a few neat tricks up its sleeve. This is the new for 2014 Giuliano Mazzuoli Carrara watch, and it has a case made out of Italian marble stone. While stone-cased watches are quite rare, they aren't unheard of. A rare treat, nevertheless, stone watches are difficult to get right, and while I haven't seen one of the new Giuliano Mazzuoli Carrara timepieces in person (yet), the elegant design and pleasant use of materials is extremely intriguing. While previous Giuliano Mazzuoli watch designs have been (to my knowledge) exclusively inspired by the automotive world, the Giuliano Mazzuoli Carrara is the first "non-car world" watch in his collection. "Carrara" (unlike Carrera) is not from the car world, but rather a place in Italy located in Tuscany. The region is known for its stone quarries which are notable for their bluish white marble stone. Used for centuries in Italian artwork (popularized, of

Traveling with ROC - bracelet woes
I'm wrapping up an awesome spring break in Arizona and for the first time traveling took my ROC on its bracelet. At home, I've found it great for everyday wear but during my travels, I have run into wrist swelling problems. And of course with no micro-adjusting clasp, there were times I just couldn't wear it. I don't know all of the physiology, but am guessing the frequent changes in altitude and hydration make your wrist change in size frequently.I don't really want to bring a watch kit (screwdrivers, extra links, etc) when I travel. So in the future, I'm wondering if this is a time to put it on a strap or go with another watch altogether. The low WR rating is also a reason it may not be an ideal single travel watch. I love my ROC, but it doesn't do me any good in its travel box. I know there are a lot of frequent travelers on TRF so was wondering what others do in this situation. Authentic Watches vs. AD which way to go?
Hello, I am in the market for a new Omega speedmaster, specifically the ladies 38mm version. Authentic Watches sells the watch for about $2000.00 less than my AD. Other than price is there an advantage in purchasing the watch from Authentic Watches? Are they an authorized dealer and do they carry the Omega warranty? If not is the Omega warranty null and void if they work on the watch? I don't want to be in a position where I pay less on the front end but more on the back end. Any insight, and recommendations, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,Hoops10
5000 posts, Patek, TRF, and Friends
Finally hit 5,000 posts (small potatoes relative to many prolific posters here). TRF is a great forum with even BETTER PEOPLE. I've made many friends here, many of whom I talk to regularly. I'd also like to say Thanks to those who have offered me advice along the way. There are many members here who have such a deep knowledge of Patek, and their willingness to share is part of what makes TRF such a wonderful forum. TRF is an invaluable resource in watch collecting. Use it that's my advice! This has been a fantastic journey so far. So, what better way to celebrate this milestone than with a posting of my first Patek, the 5712/1a. This watch will always have a special place in my collection (thankfully I realized this quickly after selling my first one - dumb move, but hey, I learned!). Here's to the next 5,000 posts and beyond. ..
