SIHH 2013 Watch Show Recap: Don't Rock The Boat
Today I received an interesting press release from the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) regarding the end of the 2013 show. Interestingly enough the title of the release very much mimicked the most positive way I could interpret my feelings about the show. But more on that in a moment. To remind you, SIHH is a large, invitation-only trade show put on by the Richemont Group watch brands as well as a few partners (such as Audemars Piguet). They separated from Baselworld years ago to get better contact with buyers and to be "more luxury." Compared to Baselworld it is quite calm, but nevertheless it is still a hustle and bustle trade show. Just with perhaps better dressed people, wine being served, and a three course lunch menu.SIHH 2013 was enjoyable as ever when it came to seeing friends, colleagues, and meeting new ones. Lots of fellow watch writers came up to me at the show asking what I thought of it and the new watches. Sometimes I would jest "what new watches?" While
Everything look ok here? - New Diver
I have in hand a new Diver with white dial, and immediately I noticed a couple things that just seem a little funny. Hoping to get some insight from the group.1. The second marker outer ring in the dial, which seems to be almost glued down over the grand tapisserie, looks to be kind of jagged and not really cut well or glued well or both. Some areas seem thinner than others and over all it's just lacking a nice round inner edge. It's noticble everywhere but in this photo check out the area between the 5 and 7 hour markers.2. The double 12 o'clock batons seem to be a little uneven. To me it either like the left one is lower than the right or its thinner than the right. Hard to tell but they just don't look even, the way for example my 15400 does.So questions:- am I being crazy or does it look like the dial is kind of messed up?- or am I seeing things right, but this is just how the Diver is?Thanks!
Help! Can't decide which model! First AP.
First post on here and I'd appreciate any help / advice on my first AP.So I'm looking at either a brand new RO steel 15400ST or a pre owned 1yr old the RO chrono. The predicament I'm in, is I have a Breitling which I'll trade, and also an IWC Portuguese chrono with the blue leather croc strap, white dial and blue hands. If I stretch to the chrono, I'll have to trade the IWC too, as its 2k more, on an already stretched budget.I love the open heart on the entry 15400 and seeing the internals. Also I understand this uses an in house movement as opposed to the chrono, but the chrono is next level up, but pre-owned (only 1 yr old). What do you guys think I should go with? Also I've never tried one on and a little worried about having thin wrists at 17cm or 6.75inches it may look to big? As if I proceed with the purchase the watch will be mailed so no option to try it for size. Should I be worried or no problem here? Thanks

this is one heck of a nice and accurate watch
Did someone say Oysterflex?
I got a text from the guy at my AD that they had recently received a WG Oysterflex Daytona, and that I should come and check it out. They had all 3 of the gold Oysterflex Daytonas in the showcase today:Love the dial on the WG:YG is also very attractive, and I typically hate YG watches:RG also has a totally different personality, it manages to look very elegant on rubber. Shame about the dial legibility.Between the three, the WG was my favourite by far, with the RG a distant last. I didn't walk out with either of the three, but I think the WG is on my shortlist for one day. Which one do you like the most?
