AP or PP?
Hi,I flipped my Hulk (last rolex I had), as Rolex stopped singing to me, to fund another AP. I'm missing a blue dialed watch. Had my eyes set on the Navy ROO, Blue ROC and the new blue Diver. I already have the Panda ROO and the 41mm Openworked. Ruled out the blue ROC as it was too similar with the RO I have. Now for the ROO's, the Navy ROO can be had for $19K BNIB, which is a great price. The blue chrono diver, however, is $25K. Not sure if I can justify the difference here.I was all set, until that day I started to look around at Patek 5711. That watch is a beauty. Now it can be had for $28K BNIB.I understand the above are totally different watches, but all I want is a blue dial watch and I'm open to all 3 options. I'm a huge AP fan but I think maybe it's time to get a PP? What do fellow AP fans think?
Which vintage (or near-vintage) Speedmaster "should" I own?
I really like the look of the older, manual wind Speedmasters, and I understand it's a right of passage (of sorts). I only just recently started to get my head around Rolex, so I'm not even going to try to pretend that I have any clue about the Speedmasters. The reference numbers are crazy, I have no idea what pre- and post-moon is (I know why they're called that, but not what's significant about it), and overall I'm clueless. I don't need the Comex equivalent, but I'd like to have an idea of what's what with these.Lay it on me.
The Omega Event on Oct 9th
Sorry I couldn't figure out on how to post pictures on my last thread with the same topic. I'm sure you want to see some pictures. Otherwise it didn't happen. Here they are. I had a great time.
Day-date 40 dial choice
At some point in the next couple of years I’m going for my grail watch DD40 president 228238 in yellow gold....still trying to decide what dial....silver with batons or white with Roman numerals. I’m also quite keen on the black dial and would defo be interested if the yellow gold was available with green dial....whats everyone’s preference?
Can the Glidelock clasp put self-induced scuffs on bracelet links?
Tomorrow, I'm going to unbox a new Submariner and do the bracelet fitting myself . I intend to adjust links for a proper fit with the Glidelock fully or nearly fully retracted. This means the first one or two bracelet links will still be inside the housing of the clasp (as shown in the attached photo). Should I expect the housing of the clasp to leave scuffs on the links that remain inside of it?Thanks in advance!
