Losing interest in Rolex after browning pateks
Just no comparison... but what do I get as a beater... was considering Rolex to fit the bill... now not sure...Any thoughts or recommendationsMaybe wrong forum, but between Rolex and Ap. Maybe the 37mm royal oak white dialSubmariner is out. Not a fan
5711 + 5726a
I wanted to get some thoughts, especially if you own both. I recently picked up a blue dial 5711, and was thinking of trading in my 5167 toward a 5726a on a strap, but was concerned they might be too similar. Originally, I was hoping for a white dial 5726a on a strap, but I tend to lose interest in light colored dials it seems. Thoughts?
Just picked up a Tudor
Well, I got a new watch itch to scratch and this is one is far less painful on the wallet compare to say.. PP5522A. Overall, it's a lot of watch for the price. And it boast probably the most readable dial in my entire collection due to the snowflake white hands and white indices against a pitch black dial. And the construction says quality despite the modest ( relatively ) price tag. Love the detailing on the deployant clasp and the sturdy brown strap with innner rubber lining. My last Tudor was a Pelagos which unfortunately didn't last very long. But I think this one just might. Have a good week ahead.
16710 Pepsi Date After Service
An issue I wanted to run by the TRF community, hopefully you guys can provide some guidance! I bought a 16710 off the forum about 4 years ago. Had always been one of my grail watches. Earlier this year I noticed it stopped keeping time well and late this summer it fully stopped. I sent it to the RSC for a service, they looked at it and said it'd just be a typical service, nothing extra or out of the ordinary was wrong.Got it back about 6 weeks ago and notice now that the date window changes like an ETA movement...at about 10PM it starts moving and finally clicks over at about 11:30PM.Have any of you experienced this before? It's obviously under warranty so I assume there's no charge to fix this right? And anyone who's experienced, is this an easy/short fix? I'd like to have the watch for the holidays. Thanks!
Warranty/Service on New Vs. Used
Hey EveryoneIm new to the Rolex world, but not new to the watch game. After a big birthday a few days ago and a lot of hard work convincing my wife (mainly begging!), she has finally agreed to let me get my first Rolex. My question is, how does warranty/services compare on new watches versus used watches? For example: if I bought a used Rolex that's still under factory warranty what is covered...and vice versa. Ive bought used watches before but I was never concerned about warranty or servicing because they weren't really an investment. Any advise on buying new Vs. used would be helpful, especially when it concerns warranty/servicing issues. Sorry if there is already a thread on this topic. I searched, but couldn't seem to find the answer I was looking for. Thanks!
