IWC Pilot Chronograph Top Gun Miramar Watch
Hitting pretty close to home (for me) IWC announces its first new watch of 2012 with a piece titled after the location of a US Marine Corps base in San Diego. Miramar is the location of the Naval Air Station and where TOPGUN pilots are trained. For a while now IWC has been proud of its Top Gun labeled aviator watches and 2012 sees the continuation and extension of that collection.According to IWC 2012 is going to be the year of the pilot watch for the brand. It seems as though their new strategy is to focus on? specific product families each year. Last year IWC focused on a major refresh of their Portofino watches, and the Pilot collection gets all the attention this year. One of IWC's most popular models is their Big Pilot watch, which should also see a notable addition this year.To tease the entire collection that will soon be released at SIHH 2012 IWC has released information on the Pilot Chronograph Ton Gun Miramar. It houses a brand new in-house made movement (which will be a part
1960's Speedmaster help please.
Hi,Can anyone help with authentication or otherwise of this speedy.Case ref 145 012 (no . between 5 & 0) with a cal 321. Good so far. The serial number is early 22xxxxxx making it around 1964, so a bit early for the case, but possible OK as far as I can see. The thing that concerns me is the dial has no applied gold Omega symbol, it is painted. I would have thought that all 321 calibre watches should have an applied Ω All that being said, I have seen the same combination on watches issued by NASA (not saying this is anything to do with NASA!) Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Jeff.

First Patek: 5146g slate or 5711 blue
Okay what would you guys do?I have a seadweller which is my every day, every activity watch with lots of sentimental value. I'm contemplating a sportier Patek at this time. I would like to wear it daily at work. I'm a casual dressing, frequent hand washing pediatrician. I have the seadweller for activities. So would you go with the 5711 or the 5146g slate dial to fill the role as the starter sportier Patek? And why?I would like to have this watch the rest of my life and only can afford one.Thanks.
Short wait BLNR uk ADs in the west country...
Hi all,I bought an Explorer II 40mm about 6 months ago to go with my 16610LV, but it hasn't grown on me....I'm looking at a BLNR as my next purchase, and have seen lots of topics about using small regional ADs to get watches quicker, some saying they've had BLNRs in 4 weeks !I spoke to my nearest AD in Cheltenham, who wanted 10% deposit up front, and was quoting a wait of up to a year .Just wondering if anyone had any ideas if AD in Worcester, Bath, etc are quicker? Also looking to shift the exp II if anyone is interested !CheersJ
