SIHH 2015: Baume & Mercier’s New Classima Collection
At SIHH in Geneva, Baume & Mercier presented its redesigned Classima collection. Targeted at entry-level consumers, the Classima line includes men’s steel and two-tone automatic models.The Classima collection’s new watches are 3-hand models with date display. They are built off of a Sellita SW200 base caliber, similar to the ETA 2824. It beats at 28,800 vph and how a power reserve of 38 hours. It runs in 26 jewels.The men’s Classima is 40 mm in diameter and 8.95 mm thick. It has blued steel hands for the hour, minutes and seconds. Applied hour indexes include Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. A date window is at 3 o’clock.One of the defining aesthetic features of the watch is its inner dial, where the silver-colored opaline is engraved with a straight-line guilloch�� design. Vacheron Constantin is known for producing some of the world’s thinnest timepieces, and for 2010 they are introducing two new wristwatches in the Historiques collection that confirm the brand’s expertise in the arena of the ultra-thin. The Historique Ultra-fine 1955 measures only 4.1mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest mechanical hand-wound watch. The Historique Ultra-fine 1968 is a square, ultra-thin automatic. The 36mm 1955 is presented in 4N 18k pink gold. Though an homage to the past, the 1955 is a modern design with 30 meter water resistance, a sapphire display back, and a titanium casing circle to improve the rigidity of this wisp for the wrist. Beneath the opaline silver-colored gold dial lies caliber 1003, which at a mere 1.64mm is the world’s thinnest. In The Wild: Brand New 5712
Apologize for no photos, but I did not bring my camera.So we are at a Newcomers Club of La Jolla event, Western themed party.And we are seated randomly. So I noticed the guy next to me was rocking a 5712 (at first I thought it was a 5711). Well, I asked him about his Nautilus and he had just bought in a few days ago from our local PP dealer, and we began a 2 hour watch discussion, much to the consternation of both of our wives and the others at the table. Even though both our wives wore Rolexes, they are not really into watches.He showed me photos on his phone of his 15 watch collection, which included several Pateks, a Rolex DSSD, a GP, a minute repeater, an IWC, and so on. He specializes in complications.He uses a microscope to examine the finishing on his watch and has taken some stunning shots of the movements. He struck me as a loner and does not participate in forums.

16610LV Rehaut or not?
Since the 16610LV is almost kinda old school now with the Ceramic LV so widely popular ( and gorgeous ) do you prefer the 16610LV with rehaut or not?My first LV a Z didn't have it and like an idiot I sold it. Kinda miss the older school feel of no rehaut.However my current darn near daily wearer an M does have it and I think I finally prefer it. How about you guys?First my old Z. Awful picture. Sorry.
