Basel Preview: Harry Winston Histoire de Tourbillon 2
In 2009 Harry Winston launched Histoire de Tourbillon collection. This year, for its second edition, the House launches an exclusive new timepiece with a bi-axial flying tourbillon in a 20-piece limited series. The monumental case features eight sapphire crystals housed in a 48.5mm white gold structure. The tourbillon has no upper bridge and is supported only from the side of the case such that the point of fixation is invisible, creating a floating effect. Look for wallpaper inside. The the bi-axial flying tourbillon combines two concentric carriages – the outer formed from titanium – and gains added precision by enabling the regulating organ to perform multidimensional rotations. When we found out a few weeks ago that Defakto had released a new watch, we got very excited. They are one of the few brands out there right now that truly follows the beat of their own drum. ?Their first watch was an ETA 2824-2 powered automatic one-hander called the Eins, which we reviewed a variation of?here. ?Their second watch was also an automatic, but a 2-hander, called the Akkord. Aesthetically, the watches are bold, but restrained, with large high contrast markers and hands, yet the good sense to hold back ever so slightly and focus on proportions. They speak both to contemporary graphic design and classical schools of design. The outcome was two very distinct watches, available in several versions that go for about $500 – $600. Qustions on winding an Omega 1152 movement
I just picked up used Speedmaster with a 1152 movement. I have a question on the winding; mine turns easily with a ratcheting feel while turning clockwise in first position. However turning it clockwise is very hard and stiff to do, with no clicking/racheting feel. Is this normal? Are they only supposed to be wound counterclockwise?Thanks!

Not happy
Got my BNIB 5711 about a month ago and have been wearing it in rotation. Decided to finally time and check the accuracy. Over the past two days the results have been disappointing -24 seconds over 24 hours. WTF?! I'm sure the watch hasn't accidentally been magnetizated as it has never been placed near any possible source. Really disappointed with all the claims of the PP seal; and for Patek to fail on such a fundamental requirement of a time piece is not good.Now I have to take it in to get it regulated. Augh! Anyone have any idea of how long this will take?
