The Maratac Pilot
It is very difficult for a pilot watch to stand out amongst its peers. It seems like every company that pops up, big and small, makes one. Many are very nice and many are very generic, but few jump out and say to you "make me a part of your collection". The Maratac Pilot is one of these few watches. check out our full review of the large model (seen in this post) here and the 39mm mid sized here?At first glance, it might not seem that different: a big steel case, big bold lumed index and a small seconds dial at 6 This scene has obviously been played out before. The differences that make the Maratac unique are subtler. The index around the small seconds dial has a distinct layout and the font used on the main index is a little squarer than most. The off-axis "onion" screw-down crown is large and nestles against the lug in an interesting manner. The minute and hour hands are simple, sharp, tapering triangles that seem to float in the middle of the watch. The black face has no logo and n
My new and only Breitling addition
Just added this to my watch collection. The navitimer was one of my grails. Just sent it out to Breitling USA to have it completely Over Hauled. I want it back in Like new condition. It was in 8.5 out 10 when I purchased it. I also bought OEM watch straps: 2 crocodiles brown and black. Also 3 calf leathers navy, golden brown and dark green. Expensive to say the least for those accessories.Navitimer D23322 Blingy. The straps are to dress it down and make it a bit understated when need be. I also have my Rolex 116610 subC. My goal is to collect Iconic watches from top brands. It took me awhile to buy this Breitling cause I was looking for a good value in the brand. I didn't want to buy new because I want the most BANG for my Bucks! This was in great condition and it was on the more expensive two tone bracelet.
Speedy 145.022
I decided to give my Speedy 145.022 Cal.861 some wrist time, I almost forgot how cool this watch is. It`s serial # is in the low 40mil. puts the age around 1977.It`s got some good patina on the dial hour markers.image upload no compression
I'm done with Panerai
FinallyMy collection is complete (for now lol)After a few years into watches, I've noticed how much i have changed.Started with Rolex, then very quickly spread into other brands, omega, iwc, brietling, sinn, grand seiko..All your usual suspects. At one point it all just seem too much. I started to wonder if I am collecting just for the sake of collecting, and not buying what my heart truly desires. Having to switch between 10+ watches, winding / setting them (especially the more complicated pieces)-believe me it's a chore and definitely add more stress to daily life lol.So consolidate into 3-4 pieces then!!! like most people I looked into the big 3. VC was never my cup of tea, so it's out. Tried Patek aquanaut- yes a classic but just does not make a statement enough. It actually feel tinny when I handled it. Gorgeous movement nevertheless. Tried calatrava, nice but it's too dressy for a person who only wears shirt and suit once a year.So ended up with a 42mm white AP diver. Gee the watc
