Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon "Hybris Mechanica 11" Watch Breaks New Record
Most everything about the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon watch is new, including six of the eight patents protecting the movement, the shape of the case that is inspired by a pocket watch from 1907, as well as the achievement the good people at Jaeger-LeCoultre have reached in regard to minimal case thickness for a grand complication watch. Even the beautiful dauphin-style hands are new. In one fell swoop Jaeger-LeCoultre's flagship timepiece for 2014 rewrites the formula for the perfect high-end dress watch. This is the type of watch that keeps us interested in horology and is easily a new grail piece for an entire demographic of watch collectors whose hearts have just skipped a beat. Let's proceed to discussing exactly what is so special about this new ultra-thin automatic minute repeater tourbillon from one of our favorite Swiss watch brands.A New RecordEverything about the design of the watch has a purpose, and we realize that unless you ar
What do people think about Audemars Piguet?
I think I have two types of watches I love. One is of course Rolex but the other I've found out recently I love are Audemars Piguet (the ROO to be more specific). The design of the bezel seems not only rugged but elegant at the same time and I just love the ones with rubber or leather bracelet. They have a special touch to them. Just wanted to see what others think about it.
Here is the restored (partial) 1974 Speedmaster
I have a 1974 Omega Speedmaster that needs a full movement service due to some rust. It's not gunked up, but a few parts need to be replaced. We normally service Rolex but I prefer to send this one out to Omega. What Omega Service Center will accept this watch and not touch the dial or refinish it as I do not want it looking new. Any advice is much appreciated.
Art Deco Allure - Gondolo 5124J-001 Yellow Gold
Please forgive me for beginning this thread before owning the watch. Since seeing it in real life on Friday, it has become a must have. In my search for a precious metal watch - and believe me, I have explored all options - this Gondolo is now at the top of my list.Having long been an admirer of Patek Philippe, and having actually tried on a couple of models, I have never found one that really has enough versatility for my lifestyle. It would be an injustice to the brand for me to acquire a Patek Philippe mainly for the purpose of being able to say that I own one. Perhaps there will be others after I acquire this one, which should occur within the next few months. For some reason, I really want a rectangular shape for what may be my only precious metal watch. There are not many reviews, comments or posts online in reference to the Gondolo, and I was a bit underwhelmed by many of the photos I saw. That was before I saw this beauty in the display window of the AD here in Vancouver. These
