Zenith Pilot Montre dAronef Type 20 Annual Calendar Watch
2013 will see a number of additions to the Zenith Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 watch collection that started last year with mega 57.5mm wide Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 that included a rather amazing recreation of a competition movement. Never intended as a serious collection, the popularity of the Montre d'Aronef Type 20 likely spurred enough noise that Zenith CEO Jean-Frederic Dufour decided to expand on the range. This new Zenith Pilot model is the most appreciated Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 Annual Calendar, and includes the name Zenith El Primero caliber 4054 automatic movement produced in conjunction with maker designer Ludwig Oeschlin. This movement originally debuted in the Zenith Captain Winsor watch. From classy now to sporty, the chronograph with annual calendar in the El Primero 4054 finds itself a good home in the Pilot Montre d'Aronef Type 20 Annual Calendar. Wound up paying $$$
So I want to switch bands and put my Hornback strap on my new RGRC but the smaller screws holding the SS pilots won't budge and I'm afraid to use any more pressure or I'll damage the screw heads.I would guess maybe some heat but can't get the leather wet so a hair dryer?Any other suggestions appreciated. Thanks
Patek 6006g
I am surprised at how little fanfare there is for the 6006. I always liked 6000, especially the blue and brown dial variant, but not the small case size. That was taken care of with the introduction of the 6006 which upsized the case to 39mm. My AD put my name on one after Basel last year (actually I was the only one) and it was delivered just before Thanksgiving. For me, the dial is great, coming across as multi-level with all the different finishes. The case is also quite sleek, making it exceptionally comfortable on the wrist. My guess is it one of the least popular new releases given the lack posts about it.
5110 or 5130 -- Please help, what's your favourite and why?
newbie question striking again....I've seen that price difference for 5110 compared to 5130 are quite substantial. Is it explained for the bigger case, mostly? Newer model with little differences?or is it there more I could not figure out so far? I do appreciate this watch, on my humble opinion the epitome of GMT conceptGiven that one is 37mm and the other almost 40mm, how this difference in size look on your wrist?I'm asking so many question, sorry , but for a good cause -- I'd very much like to get one in near future, but my watches are basically 40mm and bigger...so my doubt. Any input would be much appreciated -- thank you in advanceLuciano
My First PAM 24 Sub
Have had this watch on my list for years, finally pulled trigger on an O series Submersible. They don't seem to be the most popular and have only seen one in the wild. Bezel is tight and unlike my other 7750 based watches, there is no noticeable rotor wobble on this one. Thinking of dressing it up with an alligator strap, but I think this is probably a beach and jeans sort of tool watch.
