Zeitwinkel 273 Saphir Fum Watch
When it comes to ways of displaying the date on a watch, I consider myself a bit of a traditionalist in that I prefer the use of discs to read out the date, rather than a hand moving around a dial. Using a magnifier to help read the date is a decent way to go, but I have found myself liking the trend of "big date" displays, generally relying on two discs to compose the date displayed. There are more than a few models that offer this, but one of the more intriguing C in terms of looks and design C was just recently announced: the Zeitwinkel 273 Saphir Fum.At first glance, you might be tempted to think of this as "just another" skeletonized watch C and one that, perhaps, is not as artfully done as others. There is a kernel of truth there: while the German silver plates are decorated, they are not kinetically exciting C however, to stop there is to sell the Zeitwinkel 273 Saphir Fum short. The unique bit here is, of course, that smoked sapphire crystal that comprises the dial. Now, I h

Introducing: The IWC Pilots Watch Timezoner Chronograph (Full Specs & Pricing)
This one isn't small, simple, or elegant like the 36 mm Pilots Watch or the new Mark XVIII from IWC this year, but it features a very cool complication. For the first time, one may now set the time zone on a multi-time zone wristwatch quickly, just by pressing and turning the bezel of this new Timezoner Chronograph. Some of this technology existed before in the form of the Vogard World Timer, but this takes things quite a few steps further.A little background: the ability to set the time on a world time watch by turning the bezel to the name of a reference city was originally developed by Michael Vogt, whose company, Vogard, showed the technology at Baselworld in 2014, after a decade long development process. His design was purchased and further developed by IWC and is now the full production Timezoner Chronograph. 1 OF 3 First off, the watch is a column-wheel chronograph, with the movement made in-house by IWC (caliber 89760). The hour and minute register
AP RO 14790 size comparo
Hi guysIm thinking about getting an AP RO 14790ST, but just wanted to hear your opinion regarding the size of it. I know it is just 36mm but the shape of the case makes it wear bigger. I dont have the possibility to try it at the moment. So it would be interesting to see side-by-side comparison pics of the 14790 vs a 40mm sports rolex to get a feeling of the size and feel of itThanks in advance!
Pam 183 Repair Help
I have about a two year old PAM 183 that I purchased through TRF in early 2012. It was used at that time and was purchased from a private seller, not one of the trusted sellers. Therefore, it is older than two years, but since it came with open papers, I don't really know for sure how old it is.This weekend the winding became abruptly rough and the watch is not running long before stopping, so it will need repair. I believe it is out of warranty and don't want to fudge the papers, just get it fixed correctly and at a reasonable price. There is a local watchmaker here that I have used for minor things (like putting a new bezel insert on a GMT I used to own, but I have no real experience with his more complex work. Alternatively, I could use an online watch repair service (such as??) or send to Panerai.Advice? Thanks in advance.L
