Bell & Ross BR01 Tourbillon Airborne Watch
If you didn't get enough of the Bell & Ross BR01 Airborne you'll love the new Tourbillon Airborne. Check out some jewelry versions of it here. The skull in square shape adopts the BNB Concept made (from back when it was around) tourbillon movement used first in the Bell & Ross BR01 Tourbillon. The movement has a regulator style of telling the time, tourbillon, power reserve indicator and torque indicator. Check out the carbon fiber plates in the movement as seen on the back of the watch. Weird? Sure it is, but an interesting novelty from Bell & Ross, and limited to just 20 pieces - with a cost of $150,000 a pop.See my article on the Bell & Ross BR01 Tourbillon Airbone watch at Haute Living here. Did I just commit a robbery? haha
So I've been scanning ebay for weeks for a nice APRO to replace by beloved RO Chrono I had to sell to fund the purchase of my new PP 5711/1R... I of course was looking for a bargain... never would have expected this however.. It was an independent guy (not watch seller on ebay), the account was 10 years old, with a similar rating to mine (190ish)... no negative reviews. He had this up for auction, so I asked what price he'd want to end the auction... he sent me $6500... I was dumbfounded... The watch is essentially brand new he said, was a gift and he's not a watch person and there are no dealers in Arkansas that even know what to do with it. He ships it Fedex overnight and I'll know for sure if this was the deal it looks to be tomorrow...AP RO 15400ST. OO. 1220ST. 02Did I do ok??? (ASSuming I didn't just get scammed out of 6500!!??)
Enjoying this Friday Weather!!!
Nothing like good friends, the best rum in the world and my classic ROO. New rubber strap for my Speedie!
Hi all,Just got a new rubber strap with matching orange stitching for my HB-SIA Solar Impulse Speedmaster, and I think it looks great! The orange just makes the accents on the watch pop. This is one heck of a versatile watch, and with this strap it is even lighter. You can't even notice it is on your wrist.
5131 for $135K
I finally stumbled upon one of my favorite PP complicated watches, and it also happens to be one of the most sought after references. The only catch is the store (non-AD) wants $135K, which is multiples of what the retail price is. I realize this is the price the owner thinks he can sell it for, but I find the price egregious. Seems like a big premium, and I'd be at particular risk if PP finally figures out how to manufacture these dials in greater quantity. I'm first on the wait list at my AD, although it seems very unlikely I'll ever get it. My other favorite complications are the 5170 and potentially the 5760a (but need to see it in person first). I could also go grand complication at that price, but would prefer to stick with plain old complications for now. Thoughts?
