Hublot Auctions 12 Unique King Power Watches Signed by Boxing Legends
On Saturday night, Las Vegas’s Bellagio Hotel and Casino? played host to an unprecedented gathering of legendary boxing champions, as they joined the World Boxing Council (WBC) and Swiss watch brand Hublot in auctioning off 12 unique Hublot timepieces to raise funds for boxing’s less fortunate. The watches and the event, which Hublot referred to as “A Legendary Evening,” are the results of a joint effort between Hublot and the WBC, which began one year ago during a lunch meeting in Mexico between Hublot chairman Jean-Claude Biver, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe, and Mauricio Sulaiman, executive secretary of the WBC and son of WBC president Jose Sulaiman. At the press reception on Friday afternoon, Guadalupe told WatchTime that Hublot, known for both its high-profile sports marketing as well as its charitable initiatives, was looking for a way to enter the world of boxing in a way that was creative and different. “We wanted to work with legendary champions, bu
Incoming 5167A off on vacation
It took some patience and several connections, the geo sphere dial landed on my wrist. The 5167 is truly a beauty to behold, there is not an unfinished surface to be seen. None of the photos I've seen can truly capture its beauty, the watch radiates dashes of colours like an exploding star, I am still in disbelief I went on holiday in Asia, had a beautiful lunch with Ruud Van Driver in Singapore (Paul is an awesome guy), then off to the watches capital of the world in Hong Kong. Too many pieces on every corner, 5712, 5164, 5726, 5960, 5980 and the 5170G ! Just to name a few I ran into in 24 hours, people actually wear them and go about their daily lives.Hot, humid and stormy weather, my 5167 stays accurate to the dot without missing a beat. Being discreet and extremely comfortable, I wore it everywhere and met interesting WIS, a nod is all it took to strike up a conversation. In a local non-touristy restaurant, a gentleman whom shared my table was also wearing an Aquanaut, he gave me a
Patek Philippe Dinner
Last night I had the honor and privilege of being invited to a dinner hosted by Mayors Jewelers (my local AD) and Patek Philippe. I had an incredibly nice time, and I was able to view some very nice timepieces they had for our viewing (and fondling) pleasure. I also had the opportunity to spend some time chatting with the regional sales manager for Patek Philippe who was present at the dinner. He was very friendly, and was a veritable fountain of information about Patek Philippe watches and history. The gathering was very cozy and intimate, as there were maybe six of us invited, not including the store managers and the Patek Philippe RSM, so the total amount of people was about 11. I, along with another very nice gentleman, brought our spouses along, as they were invited as well. The atmosphere was very friendly, and by the end of the evening we all felt as family. We all shared a common appreciation for the watch brand, and speaking with the store managers and the RSM further fueled
GMT 16710 purchase decision. Can you help me?
Sorry if this has been addressed already, couldn't find a thread in the search box. I have the opportunity to buy a 16710 (mid 90s) for 7k, watch only with a local jewelers appraisal. Not sure what to do, seems a bit high and also wondering, with all the speculation surrounding a possible unveiling at Baselworld of a new GMT 'coke' next week, if indeed a SS coke is presented, do you think it will affect the prices of these 5 digits 16710? Am I paying too much for this watch? Have not seen the watch in person but it's on oyster and I am pretty sure it has been polished in the past although from the pictures the seller sent me, it does not look overly done. Any insight would be greatly appreciated
Christmas presents
A bit late, but after the rush of Christmas, I have finally sat down to play with my Christmas watches from my partner. My latest incomings, glad to have the LV back in the fold, as it is one watch that I loved and regretted selling. First time for a DJ 36 and actually its the one watch I have worn over the most of Christmas a wrist shot from Christmas day.
