Watches NEWS
Is there any love for the Two Tone 15400 Royal Oak?
I was browsing through the AD and I came across the TT 15400.Before I got to try it on, the Mrs felt an incoming and pulled me out of the store ASAP.Does anyone on TRF own this reference? Haven't seen any posted on the forum.I've been on the fence thinking about a 41mm RO. Do I want the full RG? Stick with SS? I currently have a few TT's that don't see the light of day since I prefer full PM or SS. They were watches I purchased before I could afford to plunge into PM. Something about this reference stuck to me when I saw it though.
This may be expensive
I stopped by my local AD yesterday to try on SS Daytona with the white face. Well no shocker they didn't have one in. So the lady behind the counter asks if I am familiar with AP. I say yes and we walk over to the AP counter. She pulls out a SS ROC with the white face... I think I am in love... I had just reached a point where the 12K on the Daytona was sounding like a good idea, but I think if I go that route now I will be left wanting. sorry for the bad pic
Latest find Breitling stopwatch
Dear Members,I found this in a draw after a very long time I had forgotten I had it as I purchased it more than forty years ago.I am thinking about sending to Breitling to see if they can restore it your views and comments are welcomeRegardsWalter Wharton
Thinking about HB-SIA Speedy
First time post--long time Rolex owner (since 1967).Since I have been interested in motorsports for a long time, I have recently looked around and this HB-SIA 44mm watch (with the rubber strap) appeals to me. I do not own a Daytona (which I love), and my Submariner SS date, and 2-tone Datejust are starting to look small for my wrist.Haven't really seen much feedback on this watch.I know it's not cheap and would appreciate your opinions. Thanks.Tony
1950s (we think) Omega - can anyone tell me anything from this picture?
Hi, This watch belonged to my friend's grandfather. He was a joiner and wore it every day of his long career, hence the scratches etc. As far as we know the lens, case, crown etc are all original. Sadly, for reasons known only to her, before passing it on to my friend a few years ago, his mother saw fit to dispose of the both the original box AND receipt!!! Compounding matters further, she put a very cheap and nasty strap on it, and disposed of what was presumed to be the original by its battered state! I know, I know..... the mind boggles.Anyway, the watch now belongs to my friend, and as he no longer has the receipt and box etc would like to know something, anything about it. I can probably get some more photos from him, but for now this is all he has sent me.Anyone?
