De Bethune Demonstrates Rsonique High-Frequency Escapement Breakthrough
For the past several years, De Bethune has focused its research efforts on developing super-high-frequency escapements. Currently, most escapements operate at 18,000 to 36,000 vph (2.5 to 5 Hz). In 2006, De Bethune demonstrated an experimental 72,000 vph (10 Hz) silicon escapement. Their latest efforts involve engineers, watchmakers, and a physicist, all working to develop a next-gen escapement powered by non-mechanical forces. As De Bethune explains in its latest press release, taking traditional mechanical escapements beyond 10 Hz is not feasible due to reliability issues arising out of mechanical resistance and basic wear-and-tear problems. To advance the science of mechanical timekeeping, De Bethune is employing some non-traditional forces, namely synchronization between an acoustic resonator and a magnetic escapement rotor, operating in a mechanical watch. De Bethune has dubbed its discovery Horological Rsonique, and it is making its research available to the watchmaking community

It seems logical that TAG Heuer is associated with Tesla Motors
It seems logical that TAG Heuer is associated with Tesla Motors - although I do not understand why I think that. Success of marketing on behalf of both sides I guess. Collaboration between the marks may continue for some time (probably not going to be like the Ferrari Panerai slandered and now extinct face)- but the first result of consumer is something that I have never seen before.
Incoming and outgoing.
Just received my seamaster planet ocean while on my way to nyc so I dropped it off at Omega for service. It will be a long 8 weeks but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.
Am I the only one who likes the all black GMT better than the black/blue?
The all black is more versatile and classic in my opinion and simply more beautiful.Somehow I think that the shortage of the BLNR is affecting people's perception. What do you think?I'm thinking about getting a GMT for my travels to compliment my daily wear sub and I would always go for the all black.
