Wondering How The Swiss Luxury Industry Will Handle Smartwatches? One Cheeky Watch Maker Proposes This Option
I've been close with Swiss watch designer Yvan Arpa for years, and I understand his particular blend of humor and unorthodox style. So with that said, his recent "announcement" about how he personally plans to benefit from the inevitable success of the Apple Watch (hands-on here) and other smartwatch devices, does not come as a particular surprise. Yvan Arpa cleverly sees a market in luxury smartwatch modification. See, for example, his mockups of a re-cased Apple Watch, in a novel solid gold case with loads of baguette-cut diamonds.Stuff like this is rather easy to make fun of, but you know it is going to happen. Yvan Arpa is just being entrepreneurial about an expectant surge in smartwatch popularity, and what could possibly be Apple Watch dominance of the segment for at least a good while. Further, he is sending a message to his high-end clients that, "don't worry, we can still do business together, even if you'll want to wear an Apple Watch." If customers used to wearing lavish mec

A little consolidating and an incoming
I've always wanted a full PM piece so after a long while of debating, researching, trying on different options and some nice encouragement from my wife I consolidated two pieces and ended up with the following I'm over the moon with it and glad I went for the yellow gold. I debated forever between yellow gold and the white gold sub as I have never worn any yellow gold before and am typically very low key. The brushed surfaces give it a great look and my wife is very happy with my choice (she has a 116613lb as a gift from me that she wears daily). I've trimmed down to 2 watches now and I'm very happy with the results: this 116618lb and a Patek 5167a. The two watches are polar opposites and pretty much cover all the bases for me. Very happy to have joined this club. Now, onto more pictures of the watch and a bunch of others that I tried on in the process. And a tray full of gorgeous DD40's just because. Cheers! Is the year the serial number/code on the bracelet to match the case serial year?
For example, I have an H serial 116200 and that refers to 2010 or newer and the bracelet is OP7 which refers to july 2006.Are those years supposed to match or is it fine that they don't match? Does that mean the bracelet was replaced/changed? I could not find any answers to this question. Thanks in advanced!
