MB&F HM4 Piece Unique For The Only Watch 2011 Auction
Just as they did in 2009, MB&F will participate in the 2011 Only Watch charity auction to be held in Monaco this September. The event is an auction for unique watches only, with proceedings going to help fund research for a particularly nasty type of disease that affects children. Instead of just changing a color or small style element, MB&F prefers to donate a true piece of art.For the 2009 Only Watch event MB&F worked with artist Sage Vaughn on a piece unique based on the HM2. This latter piece focused on the crippling nature of the disease and was a beautiful, but dark piece that had barbed wire entangling the movement. For 2011 Max Busser of MB&F wanted a more uplifting message. As the type of muscular dystrophy the charity seeks to combat is incurable, the idea is that the children can only escape in their dreams. UK AD nonsense to be practiced in US.
Was at my AD today and placed a deposit on a GMT 2 tone that will be a gift for my uncle. After I give the deposit he tells me that since its a gift they will retain the warranty card until he confirmed receipt of said gift. I was shocked. He then shows me an email from rolex that says best practices since the rolex product is in auch high demand Rolex Authorized Jewelers must adopt Rolex's Best Practices 1) no warranty card to be left blank 2) all watches must be sold in store and stickers must be peeled at time of purchase. 3) if watch is a gift then warranty card will be retained till the gift is confirmed and then will be shipped to the recipient. I was in shock! Long story short, I have a very good relationship with my AD and he knows my family very well so he agreed to ship the card with the watch. Rolex is really starting to get out of hand.
For years now, I��ve been reading U.K. shortages...
It never made sense to me. Rolex wants to sell watches. When China was on fire with sales, China had tons of watches for sale. Often the lowest price in the world when factoring in currency conversions to CHF. I've been reading for many years about constant short supply in U.K. Makes me wonder if this is a game all the dealers do in the U.K. to drive up hype and demand. I mean it would greatly be in Rolex's favor to sell as many watches as possible. I know the Brexit currency crash has had something to do with recent times but even when the pound was high, Rolex's at ADs was low. What is your theory/thoughts?

Heard from an ad that rolex will not be shipping any watches until feb of 2018That means the sales for dealers will be horrible for holiday season while the grey dealers will be cleaning up.
