Watches NEWS
Initial Impressions: Citizen Nighthawk
Citizen is a brand that needs little introduction. They have been around for almost a century, they are one of the largest watch brands currently in business, they are available at almost every major department store and certainly most mainstream watch stores and they are considered to be very well made. Yet, despite their reach and popularity, we haven't reviewed or featured a single citizen watch on worn&wound yet. Wellthat's sort of a lie, because every time we discuss a watch that is powered by a Miyota movement, whether it is a Maratac pilot or a Lm-Tec Combat B16, we are in fact indirectly talking about Citizen as they own Miyota, but we have not directly discussed a Citizen branded watch.? This is for a simple albeit subjective reason, most of them just don't interest us. Style isn't exactly Citizen's strong suit (I hope I don't make too many enemies by saying that) and for the price there are generally sexier options out there. Of course, there is an exception to every ru
changing dial
I have a white dial TT daytona and seems hard to sell at a good price so i decide keeping it. I kinda itching to change the dial. Black or slate? pics if you have the black or slate
SD43 too similar to sub?
I have recently acquired my beautiful SD43 and I love it. The more I do look at it, I ask myself this question. Is it too similar to a sub? Let me know your thoughts! I am curious because I feel they are so different but to the average joe I'm sure it looks like a sub to them.
VAT and Customs
I be reading how some of you get stuck paying VAT when going through customs. How is this possible? I never had anyone question me about my watch nor seen anyone run into that issue. The reaction I get from Customs is looks and an occasional compliment, Nice watch. I get through Customs just fine. Plus, would if you bought the watch years ago? How do they track and/or know if you just bought the Rolex? I'm just confused on how people get stuck paying VAT.
My Rolex plans for 2018
Its been 19 years since my last Rolex watch, a Jubilee DJ. After reading all the valuable information on TRF I now want to create a collection. None of these watches will be flipped, they will be worn and will be earmaked for the male heirs in our family. My wife will Address the female heirs. The watches I intend to obtain are:GMT BLNRLV SubDaytona ceramic (white or black)Sea Dweller or deep Sea BlueAll watches will be acquired via an AD at MSRP.I have a strategy in place based on everything I have read on the TRF. And I have set a time frame of six months to complete the above. Will keep you informed of my progress or lack thereof. Pictures will be included when the watches are acquired. Not part of the above plan but will be in the Netherlands, Germany and England in December and will check out the ADs in those countries. I do not expect to acquire any of the above watches during this trip but you never know.
