Re: Speedy nato strap
I have the speedy 42mm on bracelet. I will be going with NATO strap soon. I went to an AD and saw some OEM Omega Nato straps. I know that its over price but I like it because of the Omega buckle and omega etching on the keepers. For those of you guys who have the OEM Nato straps how do you like it?I have generic Nato straps on my other watches but sometimes its either too short or long and quality depending on makers of Nato strap not that good.If I was going to go aftermarket again what sites would you recommend? Thanks!Ryan
SS Pepsi Likely To Cause Plunge in WG BLRO Sales
I have been looking to buy a pre-owned BLRO in WG, but I am now just going to buy the SS Pepsi. The SS models hold their value much better, they are easier to sell if you change your mind, they are more durable and now there is little difference in the look, plus the SS Pepsi has the new movement and a much longer lasting power reserve which makes it technically a superior watch to the WG BLRO.The White Gold BLRO was not a big seller before this SS Pepsi was introduced, so I think sales of the WG BLRO are likely to go down even more now which might eventually lead to the model being discontinued or maybe Rolex will upgrade it in some way like the movement. Thoughts?A used WG BLRO is about $23 to $24k today, which is enough to buy a SS Pepsi and a SS Daytona and still have about $2 to $3k left for a fun weekend....Based on that I can't justify a WG BLRO anymore. It needs to drop further in price so that it makes more sense.
Finger-Lickin TTDJ41
I had a hankering for some Wicked Wings yesterday, its been a couple of months since I've visited KFC and so given that it is a celebratory season for many I thought I would indulge. Thanks to DAVIDSW for giving me a great deal on this RG/SS DateJust 41 earlier this year. Its a great watch that I have not worn enough. The fluted RG bezel really compliments the metallic brown dial. This watch with the Jubilee bracelet is so comfortable, and once the bracelet is adjusted properly the fact that it doesn't have an easy link is not really an issue. The sharp edges of the fluted bezel glisten with the slightest movement of the wrist almost bringing the watch to life if you will!! The new movement is brilliant!!FingerLickinTTDJ41.jpg
Where to get Hollow Ground Screw Driver?
Have to size my oyster bracelet. I'm tired of paying money of going to the jeweler, figured it was time to finally get my hands dirty. Where would I get one? I know I need a 1.6 but I am having a a pretty hard time finding a hollow ground variant. Is the MSA 01.202-T160 on Otto Frei the one I need if I can secure a handle from someone?
Is the year the serial number/code on the bracelet to match the case serial year?
For example, I have an H serial 116200 and that refers to 2010 or newer and the bracelet is OP7 which refers to july 2006.Are those years supposed to match or is it fine that they don't match? Does that mean the bracelet was replaced/changed? I could not find any answers to this question. Thanks in advanced!
