The Piaget Altiplano 900P, The Worlds Thinnest Watch, For Only Watch 2015
Participating in Only Watch for the sixth year in a row, Piaget releases the Altiplano 900P – for the first time with red hands. Piaget bills the Altiplano 900P as “neither entirely a movement nor exactly a case – or rather, both at once.” The Altiplano 900P merges both case elements and the movement, achieving a record-breaking slenderness at 3.65 mm, making it the thinnest watch in the world. 1 OF 3 Piaget takes its skills in ultra-thin watchmaking to the extreme with this timepiece. Each of the 145 parts is trimmed to a hair’s breadth, including some wheels that measure a mere 0.12 mm. What results is a one-of-a-kind timepiece that is sure to turn heads at this year's auction. 2 OF 3 The Piaget Altiplano 900P will be auctioned off on November 7th to raise funds for research into more effective treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. For more on Piaget, click here. 3 OF 3
Incoming, my first AP (and watch)
Decided to celebrate end of 20s and new success in my career (new well paid job) with my first serious watch. Wanted the blue dial 15400 or 15202, went to the boutique in Geneva and was told that waiting times are at least 2 years for 15400 and 4 for 15202. Was shown some black dials and white dial RO but didn't like either, then the sales person tells me that they have a new boutique only edition the grey ruthenium dial and that it might be what I am looking for. Instantly fell in love with the grey ruthenium dial, couldn't stop staring at it all day. It keeps changing colors depending on the light, going from dark grey - silver grey - light grey - steel grey, its driving me a bit crazy , love the watch. Some photos under different lighting conditions in attachments.
IWC vs BREITLING Titanium Divers
Would you choose one over the other, for any other reason bar cosmetics!!!!, I've got the breitling coming in the next weeks, no commitment, AD says if its too much not a problem, and offers to show me something similar! a IWC, well before darens aquisition it wasn't a brand I was really aware of, anyone care to give me there opinions and take on the two brands and a choice between both these titanium divers thankssteve
Difference between the Patek Philippe 5107 vs 5127
All I know is that the bezel on the 5107 is a bit thicker than the bezel on 5127. Other that that are there any differences between the two models? Movement? lug sizes? ect?David
Waterproof strap for radiomir?
I have started looking at the radiomir cased Panerais with the wire lugs and have a simple question. Are there waterproof straps available for them? I am not going to dive with it, but I do like to have a strap that can take anything. Leather is out of the question. Rubber would be fine, I use that on my 176. But some other material that you don't need to dry if it gets wet would also be fine, maybe nylon? I guess they all take 26mm straps? I googled it but it seems that I could only find straps for springbars, will they also be usable with the wire lugs? I assume you loosen the screws on the backside, slide the wires out, and then remove the wires somehow from the strap?
