Corum Acquires Technical Expertise; Launches Admiral’s Cup Seafender 46 Dive and Chrono Dive
In a move reminiscent of Hublot’s acquisition of BNB Concept, Corum has acquired key members of Les Artisans Horlogers, a movement specialist that filed for bankruptcy in January 2011. Corum is also launching two new Admiral’s Cup models: the Seafender 46 Dive and Seafender 46 Chrono Dive. Find pricing inside. Like BNB Concept, Les Artisans Horlogers worked quietly with brands to develop highly innovative and complicated movements, including recently the H-shaped movement in MB&F’s HM4 Thunderbolt. Les Artisans Horlogers co-founder Laurent Besse, along with two engineers, one movement designer and one technician, will soon begin work at Corum's facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Besse was previously head of research and development at Progress Watch SA. Corum CEO Antonio Calce’s plans for the brand include developing the resources to design and manufacture calibers in-house. This acquisition is a major step in that direction.Corum is also announcing two new addi
My First Grail Watch: Hamilton Powell
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Hamilton Powell, the fellow who founded consignment site Crown & Caliber.watches-dealer (ABTW):?Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Hamilton Powell:?In 2012, I founded Crown & Caliber as an easy way for individuals to profitably sell their high end luxury watches. We will service, clean, photograph and list your watch for sale. In 60 days or less, we will sell your watch for you at or above a price you agree to. Because our watchmakers get your watch in pristine condition, and because of our huge network of individuals looking to buy a watch (both domestic and international), we can typically sell your watch for a price much higher than you could on your own C and without all the hassle and fraud/scamming risk.ABTW: When did your fascinat

Great News on the Service of my 5402SA!!! Now in Le Brassus!!
I know I've been away for weeks as I've been extremely busy with work and traveling every week. After all the drama on my 5402SA and the APSC in Florida back in February, I asked them to send my watch directly to the manufacture in Le Brassus. I am so glad I did!I just got the estimate and everything that needs to be done will cost way less than what Clearwater had quoted me. The new estimate $2762 vs. $4398. Isn't this just ridiculous! I guess they need some properly trained watchmakers down in FL to do better assessments on the condition of timepieces. Something else that is just great is that they also offered case and bracelet refinishing. Can't wait to see what my puppy will look like when I get it back. Yay!!!Any way, just very happy with the news and wanted to share!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Watches are the new currency!
1499 on JV strap
Gari at the PANERAI boutique in Vegas was nice enough to switch out the strap on a 1499 to the nubuck alligator for me see. Really changed the entire look of the watch and really has me considering applying my winnings of the week (LOL) on this beauty!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
