Review of the Citizen Skyhawk A-T From Watchreport.com
Most pilots and aviation enthusiasts tend to be gadget lovers. So when the new Citizen Skyhawk A-T was announced last year, my interest was piqued.
Autodromo Watches Hands-On
For some of you, particularly the gearheads in the crowd, Autodromo is a young brand that stirs up a lot of excitement.??A self-described "driving-oriented design brand," Autodromo recently burst on to the watch scene with a line of 60's Italian sports car inspired timepieces,?carried out with an acute eye to detail and clear appreciation for superior craftsmanship.??Each of the Autodromo timepieces are designed from the ground up, with no stock parts from the strap to the case to the dial. ?We recently had the good fortune to meet up with Bradley Price, Autodromo's founder, and talk to him about his passion for watches and of course, cars.??Oh, and he was kind enough to lend worn&wound his complete line of watches, the results of which can be seen below via an extensive photo gallery and epic video overview.Based in New York City, Bradley Price is a man with a vision, and the wherewithal to bring that vision to life.??One day, inspired while driving in his Alfa Romeo, the concept
Watch Spotting: Vladimir Putin Wearing A Blancpain Grande Date Aqua Lung While Signing Treaty To Annex Crimea
If you've been watching the news, you'll know that earlier today Russian President Vladimir Putin declared Crimea a part of Russia in a ceremony at the Kremlin. After a speech in front of parliamentarians and various regional governors, Putin sat down with leaders from the peninsula and signed a draft treaty annexing Crimea. We couldn't help but notice that there was a watch prominently displayed on his wrist. After a little research we deduced that Putin was wearing the Blancpain Grande Date Aqua Lung, a limited edition from nearly a decade ago. 2 OF 2 The Grande Date Aqua Lung is a special edition watch from the Léman collection. Here Putin is wearing the stainless steel version, though there was also an edition in rose gold. The case is 40mm and relatively slim at 11.4mm, which is why it slides under a suit cuff so easily. The styling harkens back to vintage Blancpain dive watches, but with the addition of the panoramic date complication at 6 o'
Super Avenger has taken in water! =(
Hello everyone,I'm really bummed and would like your comments and knowledge on this.Last night I decided to put my SA on a leather strap, and proceeded to remove the bracelet. When I did so, I noticed the watch was a bit dirty between the lugs, so I washed it with a bit of soap at the bathroom sink. Before doing this, I made completely sure the crown was fully screwed in. After the wash, I dried the watch with a towel AND some soft toilet paper. After this, I unscrewed the crown to wind the watch and set the right time and date. All went well and my SA looked terrific on leather. This morning, however, after wearing the watch out in the sun, I noticed condensation underneath the crystal! Needless to say my heart sank. The condensation actually formed in the shape of the chronographs and hands. The only way I can imagine water may have gotten into the watch is when, AFTER drying the watch with a towel AND toilet paper, I unscrewed the crown to set the time and date. Has this ever happen
Help choosing
Like many of you, there are more Pateks that I want than I can afford, but I have decided to go ahead and get my first one. I have a Rolex Submariner and a very nice 1967 Speedmaster (cal 321) that both have a great deal of sentimental value - I don't see myself parting with either. Steel sport watches suit the way that I mostly dress, including to work, where I don't need to wear a suit.I feel like I should get a precious metal dress watch because it's what my collection is lacking, and I am seriously considering a 5227R. (I do not like 5196's, I'm partial to 5119R but it seems even more dressy to me than the 5227. The 5153R is beautiful, but I feel like the 5227 is more modern and may be better suited to lasting the test of time. I do not like the 5146). I'm also considering a 5205R because I feel that a Patek ought to have a complication, but at 40 mm, it's getting a bit big for my wrist, and with it's thickness and bling-factor, I might wear it even less than a 5227R.On the other h
