Jack Shephard's Porsche Design Watch On Lost
Regular readers of mine know that I get a kick out of spotting watches in TV shows and movies. A regular viewer of Lost, I have always been curious to know what watch was being worn by Matthew Fox's character Jack Shephard. Of course, while on the island he does not wear a watch, but back in civilization in Los Angeles, he is always seen the watch watch. The show producers are loathe to give the watch much camera time. In fact, the only watch that was given attention was the Rolex Daytona that Jin was carrying as a business gift in season 1. But I digress. A few episodes ago (in the final season, maybe episode 3 or so) I was caught off guard as the camera gives Jack's wrist a closeup as he checks the time. Why the chronograph was running in the shot I don't know, but that glimpse was enough for me to spot the brand - Porsche Design.I still didn't know what model it was though. Searching online I couldn't find images of it, nor did I know the name of the piece. Though it was clear that
Baume Mercier Diamant Watch collection proved to be a real success with ladies
The Baume & Mercier Diamant Watch collection proved to be a real success with ladies. Elegant and sophisticated, it represents the successful fusion of classical and contemporary design elements. Now, this collection of watches of renowned won a glimmering new addition. Made from finely finished stainless steel, the watch Baume & Mercier Diamant S Serti is distinguished by its elegant decor of diamond. Twenty-six of the round brilliant diamonds adorn the rectangular case, with a further fourteen decorating the edge of the Crown.
Buying from private,Audemars piguet offshore
Hi,I am new to Audemars piguet,i have been offered an offshore by a private seller via chrono24,it has papers and box,am i safe it is an authentic piece as long as paper and watch corresponds?Would i need to have a watchmaker take a look at it before purchase? Is there any thing in particular i should be aware of?Thank you,David
X33 expert needed
I recently sold a 2005 X33 box, papers, in almost LNIB condition. The buyer contacted me soon afterwards saying the AR on the outside of the crystal had been removed and he wanted a refund. My research seems to point to late model X33s having an upgrade to single AR due to durability issues, can anyone confirm?Discussions over this with the buyer have been very friendly and I will give him a refund if he is not happy, I am keen to find out so that when I re-advertise the watch I can describe it accurately. Many thanks.Dave
Watches that pop
Hi guys,I don't exactly know how to word my question. But I'm after a new watch, I want something which grabs attention and feels special. What I mean by this, I own a few pieces, two of my favourites, the Tudor BB and JLC reverse ultra thin, however, on the wrist they are easily overlooked and it gets far less compliments than say my BLNR. I would describe the BLNR as being a watch that pops'I'm wanting a 3watch collection. JLC reversal ultra thin, DaytonaC and ....I'm thinking of a day date in yellow gold, or a 15202. Any advice on the two or other watches which are statement pieces? Thanks. Sorry if my question isn't too clear.
