Found: A Patek Philippe 3448 Perpetual Calendar Owned By Ringo Starr (Seriously)
Any auction dedicated to a member of the Beatles and his wife – a former James Bond girl – would be interesting to follow; when we discovered that the lots included a Patek reference 3448 – a rare perpetual calendar – we had to share it with our readers. Next week, on December 3rd, the auction house Julian's will offer a special collection of items from the personal collections of Ringo Starr, the drummer from the Beatles, and his wife Barbara Bach, the James Bond girl from The Spy Who Loved Me. Several lots are absolutely outstanding, including, as you can imagine, many musical instruments. The star lot is obviously a guitar that used to belong to John Lennon, who eventually gifted it to Ringo. Hello,I was just googling around (and found some interesting history on my specific Sub which I will post in the Rolex forum ) , but I came accross this vintage Omega.Tried to google images to find same one , but couldnt. I found similar but not this font ,and a few other minor differences.This is the only pic I have , of the shop's website. Before I spend time getting more pics and details , I would appreciate your thoughts - does it look genuine (shop is supposedly okay) and is it worth close to the asking price of Euro 1400 - I can haggle later.Thanks as always

No teaser this time, straight on with the show. Now some of my comments on other threads will make sense! I was fortunate enough to liberate this unworn from a collector. It's difficult to tell in the photos, but it has the fantastic blue strap also used on the 5235G.Unfortunately some of my other (non-Patek) pieces have bitten the dust, but I have absolutely no regrets!

Differences between p.2002 and p.5000
This question came up while I was reading about various PAM movements, in particular two of the manual wind 8 day power reserves. I did a bit of digging and this is what I could come up with:p.2002- 247 components with 21 jewels- 28,800 oscillations per hour- 6.6 mm thick, 13 3/4 lignes diameter- GMT function- Quick hour set- seconds reset function- 3 spring barrels in seriesp.5000- 127 components with 21 jewels- 21,600 oscillations per hour- 4.5 mm thick, 15 1/2 lignes diameter- variable inertia balanceSo it looks like the p.2002 is the more complex of the two movements. It appears though that the p.2002 is not simply an advancement in the p.5000 but a completely different architecture.
