Davide Blei Rolex Collection Brings $3.7 Million
On Sunday March 22 in Milan, Patrizzi & Co. auctioneers brought the hammer down on the Davide Blei Rolex collection, selling 98% of the lots for a total of 2,736,400 euro or slightly more than $3.7 million. The sale result does not include a buyer’s premium, as Patrizzi & Co. does not charge a buyer’s premium. More than 200 people followed the auction, including more than 100 online. In a press release Patrizzi & Co. said “[I]t is comforting to know that despite a global economic crisis, fine horology remains, as it has throughout history, a strong, stable market, capable of inspiring great passion and excitement.”

Oakley Time Bomb II Watch Remembered
We felt as though it was time to cover an interesting model and brand not yet discussed on watches-dealer. Mostly known as a sunglasses maker, Oakley also has a rather interesting line of high-end as well as affordable watches. They are also one of the first big-name US brands to enter the "not cheap crap" watch market. I believe it was about 1999 when the brand's now famous "Time Bomb" watch was released. In 2009 they debuted the Time Bomb II watch as a follow-up to the original.Mixing a Swiss-made automatic movement and a uniquely designed case, the point of the Time Bomb II was to be original as well as useful enough for daily wear. The Time Bomb II exists in Oakley's "Elite" collection of products which are its highest-end items which tend to be pretty cool. Good materials and a lot of engineering seems to connect all the Elite products together.The design of the watch is quite unique and reminds me of something an American who grew up watching Japanese cartoons would design. Seawolf Homecoming!
A long lost friend has finally come home��A Breitling Avenger Seawolf GREY Dial. I had one a few years ago and sold it and ever since I had regretted letting it go. I love the matte Grey color and think its one of the best around. I've got a Pro II Bracelet flapping it's way from NYC so the rubber will hold me the rest of the week. I may even try an Ocean Racer on it to see which rubber I'll keep.
