Rolex To Create New Shock-Resistant Oyster Watch Case?
Rolex applies for a patent on a new case-up method that decreases shock to the movement by 60%.Rolex could be planning to release watches with improved shock-resistance very soon. A recent United States patent application by Rolex details a new type of component used in their Rolex Oyster cases that is said to reduce shock to the movement by up to 60%. The patent covers the casing of a watch and the use of a two special rings to secure the movement versus more traditional techniques like using screws or a bracket. The solution is both useful and very simple, and we believe it will show up in Rolex watches soon.Patent application # 20130286798 begins by giving background on the invention as a new means of casing-up movements into watch cases in a way that results in fewer broken parts from a shock and reduces the shock to the movement by 60%. Mark on DSoTM date wheel..
Hey guys, wanted to get your input here.I purchased a brand new DSoTM with boxes/papers from a respected seller on here a few weeks ago. No issues with the watch, it's absolutely great. Today I was looking at the date and noticed this smudge(?) It's obviously magnified way up for this picture, but it's still *slightly* noticeable to the naked eye and kinda driving me crazy. I cycled through all the days and the 26th is the only one affected. Is this worth going to an AD about and possibly getting corrected or am I just being totally neurotic?Here's the link if the pic isn't showing upimgur/a/P2UYe

Incoming! My First PP...TRF Enabling Successful
Really excited that I am fortunate enough to own my first PP. Big thanks to a good friend's guidance and help in order to acquire this watch, and I couldn't be any happier!!Owning a Patek has always been a grail, and lately all the enabling here in the PP sub-forum is out of control!! (in a good way ). I'm just glad that I can now help enable others I always thought I would pick up an AC Patek when and if I purchase my first PP, as I love moonphases and the 5205g is one of my favorites since it was first released. And then I sort of wavered to something more dressy, like a 5396g or a 5227r. However, through all the enabling (I am looking at you Ken (HL65) and Ben's epic post), as well as others, it pointed me to a model that I never really looked at too closely before...the aquanaut. I fell in love with the 5167r, and so, here it is at last! I got home quite late today so only took a few quick pics to share. Will definitely post some more pics when I get a chance.The Patek box h
