Audemars Piguet Announces New, Ultramodern Museum
Audemars Piguet, the oldest luxury watch company still owned by its founding families, has announced plans to extend its historic headquarters building to incorporate a new museum called the Maison des Fondateurs, a “radically contemporary” new structure that will be naturally integrated into the surrounding Valle de Joux landscape.Audemars Piguet inaugurated its first museum in 1992 inside the original Audemars family home, and later expanded it to the entire house in 2004. Its collection includes more than 1,300 timepieces that are part of the brand’s heritage and span 250 years of history. This year, the museum enters a new, transformative phase. Audemars Piguet has enlisted the Copenhagen- and New York-based architectural firm BIG CPH to design the extension, which will add a new 25,800 square-foot structure incorporating exhibition spaces (where nearly 400 watches will be on display) as well as workshops, reception and meeting areas, and professionally conserved
Winding Omega 300m grinding sound?
Hey All,Just received a new 300m and have a concern. When I unwind the crown and it pops out. I start to manually wind it an it feels like it's kind of grinding. Is the crown not out far enough and rubbing on the screw threads or is that how it feels with the rotor winding up.***My procedure***1st. Unwind all the way and let the crown move out on its own.2nd. Wind forward or clockwise. When I do this I can feel a grinding...or a ...hard to describe...buzzing-BUT I DO NOT HEAR IT...just feel it.If I pull out to the first click, isn't that the date adjustment? I guess I need to read the instructions. The reason I ask is that on my Rolex watches I do the same procedure as described, with no grinding feeling.Am I winding it correctly? Thanks for helping me with my remedial question(s).....
116619LB still alive & ticking
So much for discontinuing the famed & beautiful Smurf. Part of me wishes it was discontinued so that I would own something even more special! It is nice to see the reference continue to be displayed on the Rolex site though.
Thinking of adding color to my collection
Currently have a BLRO and WG Sub.All white metal. Flat back and flat blue dials.Thinking of adding some color (although the Platona is still an option). What YG or RG watch would you add to my collection?Unfortunately, I am only interested in sports models or SkD.I am torn between the YG blue sunburst sub vs the YG green dial gmt. But, I also like the Daytona YG racing green dial. Then again....maybe a two for....SS/YG sub plus SS/RG Yachtmaster.Just wondering.I keep changing my mind on what I want so I will probably wait to see what comes out at Basel but of the YG/RG watches sports models now....which do you prefer? Thanks.
watch brands direct
Found a site online, watch brands direct. Prices seem decent. Has anyone had any experiences with this company? Thanks for any info.
