Everyone's favorite metal working watch makers Gustafsson & Sj?gren (GoS) are back with two new watch models. The line continues to evolve in a conservative manner (aside from the Damascus steel that is). Patrik Sj?gren and Johan Gustafsson have found that their customers prefer more classically styled watches - who'd have thought? It is actually true though. There is a tendency for us watch lovers to enjoy reading about wild timepieces, but when it comes down to it we want to wear something more conservative. I do not think that this double image of mark on the dial approach is going to last forever, but at least in the short term that the two names will be there. Why? Because consumers will get very confusing and because the name of Gerald Genta is always something for the people - often more than the name Bulgari. In fact, I suspect that the name is there to help add to the value of the watch - more that it would have the spirit of consumers that just label Bulgari.La shows is steel and 43 mm wide and 100 meters water resistant.

Which Royal Oak or Royal Oak Offshore?
Hi,I'm considering a Royal Oak or Royal Oak Offshore. After a few weeks of research, trying a few watches on etc, I've narrowed it down to a first generation Offshore (ref. 25721ST), the new 25th anniversary reissue (ref. 26237ST), Elephant (Ref. 26470ST) or Messi (ref. 26325TS) in steel.My first questions is if it makes any sense investing twice the money on the reissue (26237ST) of the original model (25721ST) in relation to future and long term value. Messi is a Limited Edition, which can be found at around the same price used as the reissue of the original Offshore. The Elephant is the joker at this point, and probably the worst investment of the bunch.On the wrist, I'm sure I will be pleased with any of these alternatives. What things boils down to then is the potential future demand and value, which is always a guessing game to a degree.Any advice are most welcome!

What is an "Old Man's" Rolex ?
Spoke to several WIS recently about collecting going forward and age milestones and both expressed the opinion that a watch collection should always be age appropriate, that is, reflect the age of the wearer. So what would that mean exactly, especially in Rolex terms? Does that suggest that a Day-Date or Cellini on the wrist of a 25 year old, or an Air King on a 70 year old, is bad form? If you are in assisted living must you be sporting a Patek and not an SKX? If you are immature can you then wear anything? I do see a lot of two-tone in Florida among older people, can that possibly a guide. Question is whether you feel age should be part of the decision on what you buy, and whether your collection should necessarily be one thing at 30, 40, 50, or 60+ years of age, regardless of your exact likes. And, is there in fact an old man's Rolex?
