TWCO Air Controller Review
If you're a regular reader of Worn&Wound, then you're surely aware of our penchant for well-engineered tool watches. Pilot's watches and those inspired by aviation are some of our favorite within that category, and with brands like Sinn, Damasko, and Bremont leading the pack there is certainly a lot to like. But within the world of micro-brands, these types of watches are few and far in-between, with dive watches being the ones generally getting the tool-watch treatment. The Air Controller from TWCO takes a step toward balancing the playing field. But before we get to the watch, let's talk a bit about the brand. TWCO, or Technical Watch Company, is a company currently based out of the Netherlands. It was originally a Spanish brand specializing in dive watches, but by 2011 it had more or less become defunct. As luck would have it, that same year enthusiast Robert Suurland discovered the dormant brand and at just 19 years old he acquired the rights to the company. Today, he is both th
Damasko DK14 and DK15 Review
Editor’s note: The following article/review originally appeared on WUS. It is a hands-on look at a rare watch that we’ve been?interested in some time. Damasko is known for their metals and engineering, but they happen to also be one of the few manufacturers of in-house movements available under $5k. The article was written by Brett of Timeless Luxury Watches, which is a retailer of Damasko. ?This is neither a sponsored post or an advertorial, merely a guest post.Today I get to review two watches, and one movement, that I've been dying to see in person for a very long time. Those watches are the Damasko DK14 and DK15, and the movement is their extraordinarily advanced in house A35, one of two in house movements currently made by Damasko (although they modify others).Everything about these watches is unique to Damasko. The way the cases are made, the way the crown screws down, the gaskets, and of course, the movement. But it's not just another ETA clone manufactured in house.

Was it easier to buy Rolex sports model back in 70s to 90s?
Just wondering was it difficult to buy a sports model e.g sub, gmt, Daytona etc back in the 70s to 90s period as compared to now? As many of us know (and get frustrated), it's quite difficult to just walk in into any AD now and buy a SubC due to stocks 'shortage'.
16613,16713, or 16623. I can't make up my mind.
I want to add a professional/sports Rolex to my collection. My problem is, I can't decide which one I finally want to buy!! 16613, blue or black really doesn't matter to me. The TT Sub is a great want, and it's a very popular watch. The only thing I require is that it has a gold through clasp. I found a full set (blue) that I really like at what I feel is a fair price. But I also really like the 16713. 16713 .. My love for aviation draws me to the 16713. It's a really cool watch and I like the 24 hour hand and the ability to keep time in separate time zones. 16623 .. I love the Rolex Day Date and Datejust models because they are classy and elegant. They are timeless, and for me, they can be worn with Brioni or jeans and a tee shirt. The subs and gmt's can't (at least they can't for me) So what I love about the 16623 is that it has the rugged appeal of the subs and gmt's, but they also have the class and elegance of the DD's and the DJ'sSo I can't make up my mind. I want my cake and eat
