Pebble Smart Watch Review - First Impressions
It has been several months now, closer to a year than not, since the Pebble smart watch hit Kickstarter and created such a huge buzz. They raised many times their initial funding request with their iOS and Android compatible smart watch setting a Kickstarter record in the process. Since funds were raised shipping dates slipped more than once, however, and some were wondering if the watch would turn out to be another case of Kickstarter vaporware. Fortunately for us backers, that is not the case; the Pebble began shipping in late January in batches out to its backers. I have had the Pebble on my wrist for a few hours now and have some first impressions to share.The Box: The first thing that struck me was the packaging the watch comes in. It was a long cardboard box made from recycled material (13 x 4 x 1). AP as a wedding gift
My Fianc��e was kind enough to let me get my 15400 as an early wedding gift to myself. After getting my Diver I promised her that I wouldn’t buy another watch until the wedding was over. Hard promise to keep since it’s a yearlong engagement. Anyway, I would like to get her a nice watch as a wedding gift and was leaning towards a Rolex DJ 31mm with diamond dial and 24 diamond bezel. However, knowing my addiction to watches she was also nice enough to let us stop by Geneva on our honeymoon and we are now scheduled for the full tour of the AP museum and manufacture. I was thinking I might want to get her a AP Lady Royal Oak instead of the Rolex. She really likes my 15400 and mentioned she loved how understated it is. She also asked if they had a ladies version as soon as she saw it. LOLDoes anyone have experience with the Lady Royal Oaks? I've heard not to go with the quartz movement because you have to send it to AP for battery replacement. I was looking at the Audemars

I would've never thought, after trying on over and over AP and never inclined to make the decision, I recently picked up my first AP. I must say that now I finally realize the attention to detail and amazing wrist presence that everyone on this forum says. I'm ready for my first Speedy Pro; but have questions....
What is lacking in my meager collection is a Speedy Pro. I have long wanted a 42mm Speedy but the show stopper for me are the two things it is missing--the date and auto movt. I am well aware there's school of people out there who love the Speedy Pro in its original form.I am ready to include a Speedy to my collection. One such model I am considering is the Speedy 9300 in 44mm + leather. I have only tried it on the wrist once while I was in Switzerland last month. A lot of people say it doesn't wear big at all and it sort of doesn't feel big on my 7.5 wrist, maybe because it is thinner than my Pam 88 and Breitling Ti Seawolf Avenger.Here's what I would relly like to get if I can and if it exists: (1) 42mm Speedy Pro, Auto, Date, Co-Axial; or (2) 42mm Speedy Pro, Auto, DateYour recommendations, with Reference numbers, will be truly appreciated.Pls. also recommend which movement on a Speedy that is undesirable due to past and tracked mechanical problems (always requiring service).Thank y

Time for the first purchase?
First time poster here:I have decided that for my first Rolex I am going to purchase a Yachtmaster 40 in ouster steel and platinum (116622). A big upgrade from my Tag Formula 1.My AD, which my family has a good relationship with, called me up and said 10,300 cash for the watch this weekend and it's mine. I am very tempted, but I was planning on waiting to purchase the watch until I received a promotion for work in January. Should I just pull the trigger or wait till I feel like I earned to purchase it?
