Close-Up: A. Lange & S?hne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst
Germany’s A. Lange & S?hne marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Ferdinand Adolph Lange, in grand style with the recently announced 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst, a limited edition that features a technological first for the brand and sports breathtaking dial and movement decorations. Here’s what you need to know. The A. Lange & S?hne 1815 Tourbillon Handwerkskunst stakes its claim to horological history as the first Lange watch that combines two of the brand’s patented mechanisms: a zero-reset function (introduced in a watch in 1997) and a stop-seconds device for the tourbillon (which made its debut in a 2008 model). This combination of functions, Lange says, enables the user to stop and set the watch with to-the-second accuracy.Equally as impressive as the technical feat achieved by this timepiece limited to just 30 pieces, each in a 39.5-mm rose gold case is the array of finishes employed on both interior and exterior elements. AP 26120 vs Rolex GMT 116713LN anyone have both?
Don't have an AP AD locally but was wondering if anyone had both watches or had pictures of them both side by side. Preferably would like to see a pic with them both on a wrist side by side. I really like both but also find the case a bit chunky on the GMT, however the GMT would probably be more reliable and easier to service but also more common and less interesting...
Latest Addition to My Collection
I just picked this up from the Omega Boutique at Tysons Galleria. I've been interested in this watch ever since I saw Mark Harmon wearing one with the orange rubber band on NCIS a couple of seasons ago. Then this year Keith Urban wore one like this while judging on American Idol.I've only had it a couple of hours, but so far really like how it wears.
Got the rubber
Got a call from ben bridge timeworks in ala moana yesterday and went in to get my strap installed and sized. Was nice to be able to open the packaging myself...I see why some of you guys on here love to do that. Took about 40 mins to install and size the strap but im pretty happy with the result...it really makes the piece look more casual and sporty than the bracelet. Girlfriend says she likes the bracelet better...but eh, this will allow me to wear the watch more, and that's what its for right? Ill swap to the bracelet on certain occasions though. A couple little things...The watchmaker at ben bridge scratched the back of 3 of the lugs during this process...so my baby isn't flawless anymore. Eh, it wasn't going to be perfect forever. I wore it yesterday for a few hours and was outside for a majority of the time...in the heat I developed a rash on my wrist under the new strap. I put some corticosteroids on the rash and washed the strap with soap and water...I hope this will help...im
Cleaning / Washing Your Vintages
Hi Guys,Just curious on how you wash your vintage Rolexes. Both the head and bracelet. It is understood that for vintages it is best not to let it touch any water. So how do you clean these if dirt and gunk are all over?Any ideas?
