Pre-Basel 2008 - Blu Open Planet Watch, Welcomes You To Its Waters
Basel World 2008 is just around the corner, and watch makers are teasing us with their new offerings. For those lucky enough to attend it is guaranteed to be a wondrous event filled with all the excitement and glamour of the world of luxury watches. Despair not, however, if you were unable to secure yourself a ticket as we have a sneak peek of some of incredible new timepieces set to be unveiled at the expo. Here is the all new Open Planet by Blu, which somehow achieves the seemingly impossible feat of appearing subtle and yet eye-catching at the same time! Given that this very unique looking timepiece has not yet been officially launched there is limited information available, however, we can provide you with the following specifications:Movement - Automatic Blu-Orbit, manufactured on an ETA 2892A base (modified for the rotating window that functions are the minute indicator)Functions - Hours, minutes. Tsovet SVT-CN38 Review
Tsovet was the first brand whose products we reviewed just over 3 years ago (yikes!). A fitting start for w&w, as it was a well styled and affordable piece. 3 years later, we've learned an awful lot about watches, brands, and what qualities to look for in an affordable piece. Similarly, Tsovet has continued to grow, gaining popularity and refining their look. It's fitting now that we get to revisit the brand and take a look at one of their most intriguing and possibly surprising watches to date, the SVT-CN38.Prior to this design, if you had asked me for a super quick description of Tsovet's watches, I would have said, big, bold, military styled watches with a nod to Russian and Submarine aesthetics. The SVT-CN38 veers strongly from that description with a distinctly 30's/40's, Bauhaus design in a modest 38mm case. There is still something stern and severe, perhaps constructivist, about it, which speaks to the brands origins, but the design is clearly rooted in something more German
Boutique to open in Roseville Galleria
Stopped by to check out a vacancy in the Westfield Roseville, CA Galleria food court this weekend and noticed a giant orange PO poster that said Omega Boutique coming soon. I know there's at least 2-3 Rolex ADs alone inside that massive maze of a mall so it will be interesting.
Patek Philippe price increase confirmed?
Assume this is common knowledge or otherwise a crafty ploy by the PP AD (UK based) to encourage a sale but my friend has been on the waiting list for a PP 5960/1A and was informed his watch would be ready to collect from 1 February. On enquiry of a discount he received the following reply (word for word, purchaser and sales rep names removed for privacy reasons).Hi XXXXX,The list price is still the same at the moment,There is going to be a price increase soon , we re not sure of dates yet.The price will be 36,920 .Unfortunately because of the increase and the demand for this watch we are unable to offer discount. If you would like to pass on this watch at the present time we can allow the watch to the next person on our list. Please let me know your thoughtsBestXXXXX
