Long Overdue Success Story - Extra Sauce 5711
Ive been after a 5711 in blue for a number of years, but always refused to pay over retail. Principal I suppose, maybe I'm just really really stubborn. I bought a 15202 (wore it 5 times over the course of a year, mostly for instagram pictures and then sold it) sent full msrp deposits to Ads who were entirely full of it and promised delivery inside 9 months, but mostly just whined incessantly to my WIS friends about how this watch had eluded me for so many years. I occasionally pestered my original AD who's list I had been put on, but was typically told that there were still people in front of me. Fast forward to this september, Prices are in the 33-37k range and I've given up. Bitching to WIS friends continues, SORRY hairdude, horologyandtechnology and bzabodyn214, I just can't help myself. Fast forward to this past september and I get a phone call from that original AD who says nothing more than, I need your credit card please Yes, yes you can have my credit card, TAKE IT ALREADY. My
Is Patek going away from deployant clasps on some complicatd watches?
I know people have commented on the fact that when Patek introduced the 5905 they removed the deployant claps in favor of the tang buckle (compared to the 5960P).However I recently saw a photo of the 5327 in the Revolution magazine and noticed it has a tang buckle, whereas the 5140 had a deployant clasp. Has any forum member seen the 5327 in person and can you verify that they indeed released the 5327 with a tang buckle?I wonder if this will be a trend or a cost saving measure. Personally I don't know if the 5327 with the thin 240 movement needs a deployant clasp, but it was nice to have one on the 5140.
With SS on the rise is it even worth not just biting the bullet for a PM?
Even if Im talking new to slightly used with the SS market seemingly booming wouldnt it be worth just going PM if cost isnt a major obstacle or you just want a SS? Ive been thinking about this and historically the PMs really seem to hold a large premium over what the cost difference was new. I know there are exceptions but I saw a LV for $12.5k USD and Id think going for a solid gold Sub a better choice. But like everything this is speculation. I mean how far are we from a $15k Sub. 7-8 years?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Anniversary Sea Dweller
Was at my local AD and they had a new Red SD...I was actually there to look at a different Rolex and went ahead and tried it on. Although it appears larger than my hulk it was actually extremely comfortable which surprised me. The more I think about it the more and more I loved it. Anyone else have this sentiment and are they still hard to find in stock?
