It has been two weeks since Apple announced its smart watch C the Apple Watch. We have weighed in with our thoughts,?and so have many others.?Let us revisit the Apple Watch by taking a look at what some of the top names in the watch industry think. And in this roundup, you will find watch luminaries such as Jean-Claude Biver, Fran?ois-Paul Journe, Kari Voutilainen, and more sharing?their thoughts and opinions on the Apple Watch. You wouldn't want to miss it.Apart from the Apple Watch, we also visit the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair to see how the massive Chinese watch industry is doing. China is of course the largest producer of watches and some of the watches that we saw might just surprise you. We also check out the new Genequand System Regulator to find out how it can and might revolutionize watch movements. And finally,
Christopher Ward C9 Harrison Jumping Hour Watch
Christopher Ward really does release a lot of new timepieces each year. A few of them are real winners in my opinion. One of those which is interesting is this new C9 Harrison Jumping Hour watch, which is actually the most expensive watch Christopher Ward has every offered at $1,585. Not for everyone, this is a great piece for those who have been fascinated by jumping hour complications - one of the first types of watches to experiment with digital displays.A jumping hour watch basically has a disc with numerals on it for the hour. This disc "jumps" each hour to show the correct hour digitally. The minutes are still indicated via a traditional analog hand. The idea of this watch is to improve legibility by reducing the confusion that can occur from having two hands to read. The primary feature here is the "jumping" disc which does not slowly move from one hour to another (but rather jumps a whole disc position). For their jumping hour watch Christopher Ward uses a specially modified Swi

Why Did the 36MM Datejust get the Upgrades?
Hi all, this question intrigues me. Why would the datejust 36mm get the new 32 series movement and the redesigned case sides (my understanding it will hold a polish better) before the Sub? In fact why would Rolex give it to the datejust ahead of the 36mm Day Date?I speculate, it is because the DJ is a much bigger seller, and more important to Rolex than we imagine. They need to satisfy (gasp!) their most important customer, the 36mm datejust buyer! I am sure there will be no waiting lists for them when they roll out across the line. Maybe Rolex does care about their most important customers! Could the majority of us forum members be less important than we think? Its too bad Rolex didn't release detailed sales information by model, it would be interesting to see. All speculation I know, but I would like to know what you think? I think it cant be overlooked. The DJ 36mm receiving all the latest and greatest improvements first. Why?
