Watches NEWS
an FYI regarding Ceramic
Good morning all!Just thought I'd drop some information on my fellow AP-enthusiast brethren. As of late, AP has been using ceramic as a case material more frequently (look at the SIHH...white ceramic Diver, white ceramic 44mm, and a gray 44mm) so I thought it'd be worth asking them how much a replacement case would cost should something happen to it. I got a quote back for $3580 for middle case and then you add labor (in the case of my Orange Diver). That's almost 3x as much as a case replacement for Forged Carbon (roughly $1100-1300).
Loving my 15400
Day 2 - love the look, feel and weight of the 15400, and glad that I didn't go with the smaller 15300. View from Hung Hom Bay, Kowloon HKHave a great weekend all!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1365837072.879905.jpg
Omega Apollo XVII 40th anniversary in the flesh
I was at the Omega boutique today snooping around (with Snoopy on my wirst) and the sales woman noticed it and asked if I'd like to see one of their newest Limited Edition Speedies. I said sure, being a Speedie nut, and it happened to be the Apollo XVII 40th Anniversary Speedy. Now I hated the look of this watch in photos and most of the people on TRF have also said it's quite ugly, so I was a little surprised to find that it looked a little bit better in the flesh. Don't get me wrong, it's not gorgeous and I wouldn't sell a limb for it but I experienced a solid 10 minute internal monologue where I tried to figure out whether it was alright or if I was losing my mind. Then my wife walked in and out came the following Hey, that's a pretty distinctive looking watch but how do you tell the time at all?!So yeah my wife thought it looked cool, and I'm still on the fence about its looks. What does everyone else think? Sorry for the bad photos was in a bit of a hurry after the monologue ;).
Orbis Blue?
Is there any word on when the Omega Orbis Blue version of the Hour Vision announced at Basel '11 will be available? Thanks!
Newcomer Advice Needed: 116613LB
Greetings from Georgia, USA.I am awaiting delivery on my 1st Rolex from my local AD due to additional links needed for my 9 inch wrists.Heretofore, I have worn nexpensive watches 24/7. I was smitten by the imposing presence of the Bluesy, but am concerned about preserving its good looks. How can I minimize the damage associated with constant wear?
