Zenith Watches: From Movement Maker To Outstanding Manufacture
Zenith watches are my newest fascination because they represent unique styling and technical prowess. Zenith Watch Company began in 1865 as a movement maker, and stayed that way through most of its existence. Most of Zenith's endeavors involved providing its strong movements to other watch makers. Zenith movements have been featured in Rolex watches for a long period of time. Regardless, Zenith proved a dynamic manufacture and began producing a line of very high quality watches aggressively priced against the competition. In the late 1990's Zenith re-imaged itself and began to produce high quality watches to house its legendary El Primero line of movements. Today, Zenith produces some of the most interesting line of watches available from house Manufacture (meaning the watch maker also makes its own movements). A signature feature of many of the Zenith watches is an open window into the movement. This they refer to as "Open" in a watch. Through this window you can see one of the main ge
Hands-On: The Montblanc 4810 Orbis Terrarum, A New Case Shape, Size, And Colourful Dial For The Maison's World Time Function (Live Photos, Specs, Price)
The newest version of the Montblanc "Orbis Terrarum" flew a little under the radar when it was introduced C which happens when the timing coincides with a new Annual Calendar Chronograph with a list price of $10,450. But it's still odd given the reception its predecessor received when this model first launched at SIHH 2015. 1 OF 10 Montblanc's new world timer, the 4810 Orbis Terrarum. The original Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum was exactly the kind of watch we want to see more of C a simple, yet elegant complication with an in-house module for under $7,000. So we were thrilled when Montblanc decided to show more of it, 12 months later, this time in the 4810 collection. 2 OF 10 Originally presented in a 41 mm stainless steel or red-gold case, the Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum is Montblanc's take on the classic world time function. It displays the time anywhere on earth at any given moment, thanks to an intuitive and surprisingly legible multi-layer
Help Needed Please
Hey folks,I have had a Super Avenger for about 7 years now and it was my favorite watch till last year. Well, I got a couple of Rolex's and don't like the 47mm big case anymore. It just feel enormous now. As Breitling is my first love, I'm thinking of buying a watch I saw online, it's a Breitling Chronomat D13050.1 Two Tone. However, I can't to find similar ones online when I search google images. It has a gold dial and blue hands. My questions:- Are they still being made? If not, when is the last year?- Does it have an in-house movement?- Could you please post pictures of similar ones? Thanks,Cheers!
New BLNR!
To start this story off, I have spent the last few months months searching for a BLNR. During my search I had gotten very close to coming home with a new BLNR only to have it sold in-front of me while waiting to speak to a salesperson. Only if I could have been there half an hour earlier.. After this last attempt, I gave up at trying to find one while away on vacation and stopped by my local AD. We chatted for a while about Rolex in general, my Day-Date being funky these last few months and about why the GMT master is going to suit me very well. I left feeling happy as ever and feeling official about being on the list.Last Friday I get a call letting me know that my collection is about to get one watch bigger!
For the wife, what would you do?
So for Christmas, I am giving her either a BNIB SD43 just got today or a stickered Black Ceramic Daytona I’ve worn for a few hours.I already bought both. Not sure which one to give her, the honest truth is, not sure which one I want to keep! She doesn’t know I have either. She doesn’t share her watches so whatever I give her I will never have an opportunity to wear. She currently wears Panerai so she really likes the bigger face watches.
