I therefore paid ?1000 of my debit card and as the shop is in England, and I live in Scotland, the manager said he would send the watch to Scotland as they have another branch in Scotland. A week later I received a call from the jewellery shop in Scotland stating that my watch was in their possession and was ready for collection and that I would have to pay the outstanding balance when i picked up my watch. I drove down to the shop which is a considerable distance away from my home town at a cost of ?40.00 in petrol. Hey everyone... the recent uptick of posts on the 5164 and 5712 (not to mention the incomings) had me zeroed in on one of the two as my next timepiece. I thought the 5164 would be a great travel companion (live in Tokyo, office in SoCal) and a good stable-mate to my 5146g. I have tried on the 5164 multiple times but never seen a 5712 in the metal. There was just something about the 5712 that I loved. Imagine my surprise when I happened on the AD in SLC last week and they had both available. My head told me that the 5164 should be the next acquisition ... Much more utilitarian with my line of work. But my heart fell for the 5712 - I was always intrigued with the design, but seeing it in the metal was even better. Well, the wait is over. AD called on Friday. Watch is in. Went to open the double sealed box. Admired the watch. AD put my name and date of purchase on the COO. Watchmaker sized it and gave it a full wind. Brought the watch home. Watch on wrist for its first day out in the Zuger household on Saturday.
