A Patek Philippe Caliber 89 sold for $5,042,000 (SFr.5,120,000) at Antiquorum’s 35th Anniversary sale held November 14 and 15 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Geneva. The selling price exceeded the pre-sale estimate of 4.5 to 5 million Swiss francs. Patek created 4 examples of the Caliber 89 in 1989 to mark the company’s 150th anniversary. So I finally got one sealed and to be quiet honest, I'm moderately underwhelmed. Not sure why they are in such demand as my 5167 is a better go to piece IMO. Anyway, not sure if I gong to keep it or flip it at this point. Cheers.
