I quick incoming thread...
Well, this one has been a couple of months coming, and has taken a fair bit of planning. Anyway, it started when I realised I was going down my usual route with regard to the Daytona I love them when I get them, I cool towards them after a few months of ownership and then I find I don't reach for them any more. It's happened with three of the four that I've owned, the only exception being the white gold Zenith that I stupidly sold a couple of years ago (and that's another story, albeit not a particularly interesting one for anybody but me).So, I decided that I'd have to move the latest one on, and then started to think about what white-dialled chrono I could replace it with. I didn't want anything too dressy, as my collection has veered markedly in that direction over the last year or so. I toyed with various options such as Girard-Perregaux, but couldn't really make up my mind about them; then I started looking at the Royal Oaks in their various incarnations. The current 26320ST is a
Please help! PO Chrono - real??
Hi,I am considering taking a watch (~2009 Omega Planet Ocean Chrono, pictured below) on trade, and I am scared to death of the PO fakes out there. I tried it on and it feels well made. I am a Rolex guy and have no experience with Omega so I don't know what to look for. I snapped a quick pic with my cellphone, but it's not the best quality. It will come with box, papers, etc. No steel band, just the rubber one. Anyway, the guy seems really nice and knowledgeable, but you just never know with all the fakes out there. Is the helium valve in the correct place? What about the numbers/writing?Thanks a million!Ed
Sunday in Singapore
On a rare day off, all my chores and housework done, 30k ride on fat bike done and Mrs Van D on her way from Basel to Barcelona via London. What does young Ruud do with himself? I know, let's go to OP. The head of retail for all of Asia is in for a couple of days and proceeded to drool over my 689. After talking to him, it's left me realising exactly how lucky I am to have scored a 689. They're all gone from from the OP boutiques around the globe, every single one. And there's no plans for another at this time. Next it was time to do some hunting. I had a play with the 687, 389 and my beloved 533. I think I need another watch box..........
What Do You Guys/Gals Think?
Okay looking for thoughts and opinions from TRF members. Please limit your answer to the watches in question. So you have one watch a 114060, that will remain in the collection. You need to add one more. There will be no other watches in the collection. Which would you choose and why?Rolex 116618 LN (solid gold sub, ceramic bezel black)Rolex 118206 (36mm day date, platinum blue dial sticks)Edit Added a shot of the 114060
