Review: Techn GosHawk (Ref. 411)
Previously on worn&wound we've discussed those watches or watch brands that manage to achieve superb design and quality in a surprisingly / unbelievably affordable price point.? Think Steinhart with their $400, ETA powered pieces, or the $200 Maratac Pilot with a quality automatic and sapphire crystal the size of your head. ?Having spent some time with the $338?Techn GosHawk (and previously Sparrowhawk) I am beginning to think that Techn deserves a place in that conversation.?The GosHawk pairs unique aviator styling and excellent craftsmanship with a quality Japanese automatic movement and superior components.Case: Bead Blasted Stainless SteelMovement: Miyota 8217 AutomaticDial: BlackLume: C3Lens: Sapphire with AR coatingStrap: “Saddle” Oiled LeatherWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 41.4mm x 48.7mmThickness: 12.5mmLug Width: 20mmCrown: Screw downWarranty: 1 YearCaseThe case of the GosHawk is simple and clean, matching an aesthetic seen throughout the watch. An Interesting AP Goodie
I received this at the opening reception of the AP Royal Oak 40th Anniversary Singapore Exhibition. This is a surprise gift, to me at least, and all I can say is that it is the most interesting and almost deceiving memorabilia that I totally enjoy.Make a guess on what it is? (Those who have seen or received it, please keep mum for the moment ok? :)HAGWE!Wayne

Current retail 5711 prices?
What is the retail price for the 5711 at your AD?I know they're usually not available, but i'm curious because I keep seeing pre owned ones being sold at what I believe is much higher than retail, or being sold at retail price for a pre owned one of 3+ years.Curious as to what the current retail price is.Do you think the price increase will effect Patek's pre owned market as well - not speaking strictly about the 5711 but in general..Just curious on this. Thanks guys!
Why isn't the GMT also known as "The Moon watch"
In 1971 the entire NASA team wore Pepsi GMT's on their mission to the moon. This seems to be an important moment in Rolex history, doesn't seem to get mentioned much..rolexmagazine/2008/06...story.html?m=1
