Watches and F1: The Schumacher Omega Speedmasters
The Omega Speedmaster is perhaps the greatest icon in the watchmaking world. For over 50 years, the Speedy has been the gold standard by which all high-end chronos are measured, and the history of the line can fill volumes (in fact we have: check out our series on the history of the Speedmaster here). However, for all that game-changing, moon landing history, and the dizzying array of variants, there's one line of Speedmasters that always seems to fall by the wayside somewhat: the Speedmaster Schumacher. It's easy to forget with the NASA heritage and the Moonwatch designation (which, even as a racing fan, I can't argue, is the coolest distinction ever awarded to a timepiece) that the Speedmaster line was designed as a racer's watch, and the Schumacher Speedys take that to the nth degree by partnering with the man who, by the numbers at least, is the single greatest racing driver of all time- Michael Schumacher. Now, I grew up watching Michael dominate the championship again and again wi
First AP For Me
Hi, all. I just wanted to show off my new 15400 that I received today. After trying one on during a recent Caribbean vacation, this watch has been haunting me and I am very happy to say it's now mine. My thanks to Takuya for a very smooth deal on this brand new J series.I must say that even after trying it on first, after reading posts and looking at photos I grew a little apprehensive that its 41mm size might actually be too big. It seemed a little silly, I've worn Panerai and the even the 45mm Planet Ocean before so I wasn't 'that' worried. But, perhaps my eyes were tricking me when I tried it on previously because it seemed like such a good fit then. Some of the photos and comments were a little off putting to say the least. But, no, the worry was unfounded. I have about a 7-3/4 inch wrist and I tell you this thing fits my wrist like a glove, if that makes any sense. This thing is so classy. I am very happy with it and look forward to wearing it more. One question, well, a few
Speedmaster Day-Date 3222.80.00 (blue dial)
Looking for information about this model, I have always been attracted to it for some reason. What are your reviews? Can you suggest anything else? thx members.
New Thoughts
As my signature shows, I've love Panerai & Rolex. However, I popped into Omega's site today and was quite fond of the Speedmaster Day-date reference 3221.30.00. Very SEXY!!!Can any of you fellow TRF's give some feedback on this piece? What can I expect in terms of price from an AD and any discounts they may give? How's the movement?I am new to Omega and have never even tried one on. My next watch was slated to be a Daytona, but it appears this watch is significantly cheaper. Just looking to see how this one stacks up??? Your input is appreciated!
Do any of you allow friends or colleagues to handle your Rolex?
Hello.. For the first time ever I wore my SubC to a conference at work today. Colleagues immediately noticed my watch. I received plenty of compliments on my watch. I was even asked a couple of times by people that I consider to be friends to take my watch off so that they could take a closer look at it. Do any of you allow colleagues or friends to handle your Rolex?
