F.P. Journe Releases Octa Perpetual Calendar
Independent watchmaker Francois-Paul Journe has added a ninth model to his eponymous brand’s Octa collection, called the F.P. Journe Quantime Perptuel, a perpetual calendar timepiece with an instantaneous jump function. The watch, which will be limited to 900 pieces, made its debut in Geneva during the SIHH and GTE watch fairs.A perpetual calendar (“quantime perptuel” in French) displays the exact date along with the day, month, and often the moon-phase by automatically taking into account the variable length of the months and leap-year cycle. 5524 or 5980?
Looking for a bit of help with my thought process. I’m considering trading my 5980 to get a 5524. I’ve loved the 5524 since it first came out but the 5980 would need to go, and I’m worried that I would end up regretting selling the 5980. What do you think - 5524 or 5980?
Panerai Discounts?
Hello all. I intend to add a Panerai to my watch collection to join my Rolex. I got a nice discount when I purchased my Rolex. I'm wondering what should I expect to get when I try for my Panerai. I'm looking at the 005($4.7k) or the 111($6.3k). There is a Panerai store close to me, as well as a few boutiques that also sell them. Kind of a far drive to try to hit them all to look for the best price. Should I even try the Panerai store? I've seen other say the Panerai store doesn't offer discounts, maybe just an extra band. I'm curious especially with the recent price drops if discounts have gotten smaller. Thanks.
