Casio & Surfrider Foundation To Release G-Shock X Surfrider Watch
The Casio G-Shock classic series is really the perfect surfer watch (unless you want the tide charts which are available on other Casio watches). This is because they are inexpensive, can take a beating, and often solar powered, and highly water resistant. Likely realizing this, Casio and the Surfrider Foundation teamed up and will release the Casio G-Shock X Surfrider watch in July 2009. The watch is model G5500SRF-1 and will feature special colors and a Surfrider Foundation logo on the face behind the data. A portion the money for each watch sold will go to the Surfrider Foundation. Interestingly enough the partnership is stressing the eco-friendliness of the watch because it is solar powered and does not need batteries. This is true, but a kinda salesy if you ask me. She's Back from APSC
Hello all as you may know I purchased a 26401.RO on July 1. I was using the Chrono and noticed when I stopped and reset it the min and hour hands reset one tick forward on each. I immediately called my AD who I purchased from. They contacted AP and they sent it in for me. Two weeks later my baby was back and running perfectly. My hat is off to both Swiss Fine Timing here in Chicago and APSC for the fast and reliable turnaround. Here are some more pics of my baby.
Recommend me a good "watch kit" or "tool set"
HiI'm looking for a set of tools I could use on my Speedy Pro (3573.50) once I pick one up.My skill/knowledge level would be considered beginner. I just want to be able to switch straps, deployant buckle, and maybe even add/remove links from the ss chain. Thanks for the suggestions.
New models 5170g or 5980 1R
Which one? I currently own a 5980r
Looking for experienced thoughts on buying watch with this RSC report
Looking for guidance from you more experienced buyers. Would you hesitate to buy a watch that has the following RSC report? Watch is a 2008-9 Milgauss GV. Price is fair, not extremely low like it has any discounts based on this info. It is for sale at a very reputable AD/used dealer. Just want to make sure in yalls opinion it is or isn't an issue long or short term, both mechanically and visuallyInitial condition:Bracelet worn Case scratched Crystal chipped Case lugs dented. signs of previous refinishing Bezel scratched Crown dentedBasically looks like externally rough shape. I'm not positive how the repair works to know if it can be fixed without taking anything away from it. For example, can the case lugs and worn bracelet be fixed without a complete replacement? Repairs done:Replace crown Full serviceSize bracelet (added 3 unconnected links) CROWN 724-0 AC Replace crystal Sapphire CRYSTAL D31.8 1.8 GREEN & GASKET.I have the full RSC form if any more info like dial, bracelet, cal
